Truth Behind The Lies
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, fan fiction. Set in season 7 after "Lies My Mother Told Me." My changes are that neither Robin nor Spike were seriously wounded, just bruised and bloodied.
They "run into" each other at the Demon Bar. LOL
Slash innuendo, so rated R. Adult language also.
Truth behind the Lies.
Both men rather bloodied and bruised give one final hateful stare at each other and walk in opposite directions.
"Sod off then" Spike spat out bitterly and grabbed "his" jacket back.
"Hey, that doesn't belong to you!" Robin called out to him.
"Does now." Spike added simply and disappeared into the dark night. That was Spike's sanctuary. The dark, good night. In which he went into 'not so gently'.
An hour or so later Spike sat across from Clem, tossing back shots of a dark amber liquor. They chatted idly together. Until Clem lifted is saggy chin and looked towards the entrance.
"Oh, oh." He said sullenly and gave Spike a sad smile. "Look" He said tipping is fleshy face to the door.
Spike saw Robin walk in and very disgustingly notice him. He walked boldly up to him so that they were nearly nose to nose.
"Right then." Said Spike hotly. "Back for round two, mate or what?"
Robin's eyes burned with rage, then chilled to a look of resolve. "Look man, we had our pissing match. What's done is done. It's time for us to both let it go. We have bigger issues to contend with. Buffy needs us, both, so back off." He pushed Spike back gently and turned to take an empty booth. "We need to talk." He said simply.
Spike raised his eyebrow at him then shrugged and sat across from his sparing partner. He waved his pale hand in the air and the bartender brought drinks.
Both men shot back two drinks each before either one of them spoke again.
"So, just so I'm sure, we're done right, all is over, we settled it right?"
Robin put is face in his dark hands and sighed loudly. "Yes, Spike 'we're' done."
"Well for what it's worth, I am what I am. No more no less."
Clem waddled over. "Hey, so you the principal, eh?" He spoke to Robin. Both men glared at Clem shooting 'go away' vibes at the wrinkly guy. He got the message loud and clear. "Sooo, ok then I have a poker game to go to so, see you around Spike, Mr. Principal man."
Robin ordered more drinks and Spike spoke out, "Let's have that 'talk' before we're both to drunk to comprehend each other."
"Good thinking" Robin nodded. "So this first evil dude, he's been around before?"
"Yeah," Spike answered him. "Back when that git Angel was still with the Buffster."
"Angel?" Robin said looking at Spike pointedly. "I heard Buffy mention him once, but she never elaborated on what his deal was."
"Ppiiifffttthhhhh, he was all tall dark and broody, and nothing useful." He's off in LA., He's got his own gig now. But yeah, the first nearly got him to dust himself."
"And…?" Robin prompted.
"And, nothing!" Spike hissed. Then to himself he said "Angel, Angel, Angel, God! If I never hear that name again it's fine with me."
"Jealous much?" Robin hinted.
"Oh you really want to go there, mate? I wouldn't if I were you." He warned Robin off.
Robin raised is hands in surrender. "Ok, ok, I was more interested in the first anyway, not your x-boy crush."
Spike raised his hand to Robin about to strike him and then stopped. "Am I that transparent?"
"Uhm, yes." Robin said simply.
"Look, Spike I understand more than you think."
"You're g----?" Spike asked, shocked.
"Not so loud!" Robin growled, "and no, not completely, I'd prefer to say, bi."
"I should have known." Spike laughed, "You did get awfully grabby during our little scrap. He shook his head at Robin, and grinned. "Your place or mine?" He asked is former enemy.
Then from out of nowhere Buffy's voice rang out.
"Oh, eeewwwww you two." She said trying to hide her mischievous smile. "Get a room!"
The two men stood, gave her a smile and then left her there alone in the bar.
