Love is as Cold as Death
He went to visit her again today.
Why does he still love her?
She is as cold and dead as stone.
But then, so is my outer appearance.
I am as dark as the night,
he as light as the sun.
We are complete opposites, incompatible.
How can I compare to her bright cheer?
The pain of my love for him is not worth the suffering of life,
so I shall end it once and for all.
It's not like anyone will miss me anyway.
I am the dark one, the freak, hated by all.
Now I sit here on the bath room floor,
staring at the contrast of my deep red blood against the white tile,
the dagger clattering to the ground.
For the first time, I feel complete bliss as my spirit slips away from my body.
The only thing I will miss in the afterlife:
his smile, his deep emerald eyes.
Complete ecstasy fills me as I breathe my last and slip away into darkness.
I stand here in the snow looking up at her tombstone.
It reads: "Here lies Terra. A Teen Titan. A True Friend."
As I lay a small bouquet of flowers on her grave, I say,
"I'm sorry Terra, but I've moved on. It's for the best."
I turn around, and leave the cemetery with a light heart.
I soar above the dark water, contemplating how to tell her how I feel.
I'll go find her as soon as I get home.
My love, my dark beauty.
