Who is the gull
The seagull skimmed over the evening waters of the ocean. It never saw the fluffy clouds tinged with the pale red sunlight. It never saw the couple sitting at the edge of the pier. It cawed to its fellows before diving for the breadcrumbs falling into the water off the pier.
The girl let the last of the breadcrumbs tumble from her fingers before returning her hands to her lap. She watched the fall slowly until they hit the water, gobbled up by the gulls. No, she told herself, almost shaking her head, Naruto-kun is stronger than that. Your not taking advantage of his sadness, you're just happy that your finally able to be there for him when he's done so much for you.
He sighed and laid his head on her shoulder. She instinctively gasped. The furious blush rising. Her vision wavered as her dangling legs kicked out reaching for support. Naruto-kun she could only think. She was giving him support. He wanted her to give him support.
She tentatively put her arms around his shoulders almost letting go when he sighed contentedly. They both smiled as Hinata held him tighter.
No, I am not the gull that preys on him. I am the crumb that gives him the strength to fly again.
