Why was something like this bothering him? This was a simple question. All he had to do was ask her. The worst she could say was 'no'… that thought was not very comforting. She said that she loved him, and he knew she would not tell him no, but the worst possible scenarios were running through is head.

It was Tuesday afternoon and that meant that Botan would be working at the book store. She had quite a crazy schedule. His girlfriend was never one to just sit back and do nothing. At the moment she was working full time at a cafe, which was where he first met her, part time a the book store, and she was also a full time student. Well, she would not be in school for long; she was graduating in about a month.

Now he was standing at the entrance of the book store watching her through the window as she restocked the shelves and helped a few customers find their desired selections. She was so beautiful. Before he had worked up the courage to ask her out, he would often watch here as she worked. He never told her, but when she waited on him for the first time at the cafe, it was not by accident. He planned it out that way. He only needed to see what tables she worked at on Wednesdays and he purposely sat in her section every week, and ordered the same thing every week.

Having worked up enough nerve to do what he had to, he stepped in the crowded store. He had no intention of messing this up. She was his everything and she deserved perfection. He knew that if he didn't step out form behind the tall shelves and into the isle she would never see him due to her height. She was by no means a tall woman but she was not short either.

He watched her light blue ponytail bounce as she walked towards him. He smiled as she gave him a quick peck on the cheek. She had once told him that she did not like to show romantic displays of affection in her workplaces; not that she had ever done it before seeing that she'd never had a real boyfriend before.

"Kurama! Excuse me for just one minute." In the blink of an eye she was across the store. When she came back a few seconds later she had a load of mystery novels in her arms. She placed them down on the counter. He was ready, and he knew that it was the right time. She was talking and probably apologizing for something.

"Baby, I'm sorry for rushing past you like that. If you give me a few minutes we can leave and go… Kurama, what are you doing?" she questioned him in a hushed, almost disbelieving tone. He had kneeled down in front of her and taken her hand in his.

"Botan, I don't know how else to do this so I'm just going to ask. I love you with all my heart and I want to know if you will be my wife." He brought out an engagement ring. He looked up and saw her look of astonishment turn into one of joy.

"Yes! God I'm so happy. Yes!" he smiled and placed the ring on her finger and kissed her. The entire store was cheering but neither one noticed. They were two focused on each other to notice anything else.
