Along the way you'll meet people
Who seem to really care,
But at the end of the day
Will no longer be there.
Along the way you'll meet the world
Who may betray you too,
But your one true friend will beat the odds
And face them alongside you.
Along the way you'll have this friend
Who will always be at your side.
They'll stay there 'till the very end
Against the crashing tide.
Along the way you'll start to think,
Just how am I doing so far?
And then picture your friend without a blink
And realize who you are.
Without them you'd be nothing
For they helped you every day.
So remember once to thank them
Along the way.
