A/N: I ought to work on "Winds Of Change" but this bunny bit me a while back and would not let go. It is set shortly after the events of Dark Journey.

Every night in my dreams I see you,
I feel you,That is how I know you go on.

Tahiri Veila cried herself to sleep, thinking of Anakin Solo, the only boy, ... no man, she could ever love. If sleep did manage to claim her, she still couldn't outrun his memory, as in her mind's eye she would see him, not in one of their pleasant memories, but in his last stand at Myrkr, his body overloading with his own terrible power, amphistaff piercing his heart.

Far across the distance And spaces between us You have come to show you go on

She sat bolt-upright in bed at the sound of his voice, thinking for an instant that the entire horror and emptiness that was the Worldship Baanu Rass had simply been a nightmare. That hope was shattered when she saw his blue-wreathed form, sitting on the edge of her bed.

Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does go on Once more you open the door And you're here in my heart And my heart will go on and on

He put his finger to her face to dry her tears, the ghostly touch felt as a feather brushing her cheek, soothing her. "I will be with you, forever. This love cannot be stopped by the ceasing of my mortal breath." His voice seemed like it was simultaneously coming from the walls of the moonlit bedroom and within her very self.

Love can touch us one time And last for a lifetime And never let go till we're gone

"I ... " Her voice trailed off in sobs of both sorrow and relief. His body was gone, burned upon a pyre on the Hapan plain beneath her window, but his soul could not fully into shadow, until her own demise.

"I know." Those two words coming from his lips eased all her fears. She knew both how she had felt about him, and that he had felt the same way. She also knew he was always going to be at her side, felt but unseen, come what may. She wept tears of joy, mingled with tears of sorrow. This is a dream she tried to convince herself.

Love was when I loved you One true time I hold to In my life we'll always go on

"Remember the locker on Yag'Dhul, what we shared there. It was real, and if you forget all else, remember that, and that I am a part of you. A part that no blade or bolt can take away. Our souls are not two, but one. I cannot ever depart you now, closer in death, than in life." Sapphire tears ran down his face, the azure glow surrounding him, starting with the tears on his cheek, subtly changing to an emerald green, the color of her eyes.

Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does go on Once more you open the door And you're here in my heart And my heart will go on and on

"This is no dream, Tahiri, this is happening. This is real."

"What will we become, you're a ghost, I'm still flesh and blood, how can we be anything at all? How can we be close in any way other than this?" She trembled with ... fear? Anticipation? Worry? She could scarcely sort out her own feelings.

You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on We'll stay forever this way You are safe in my heart And my heart will go on and on

"We shall become one, I shall dwell inside your heart, and become your second soul," all of him now glowed green, and he stepped towards her now standing form, "And nothing can ever cleave us sunder, not even the sharpest blade." With that he stepped foreward, and merged with her. The bliss was greater than the sorrow of his demise. She wept again, now fully tears of joy. They were, now and forever, together and whole.
