Halloween Kiss

A silver masked man cloaked in black danced with a tall slender woman gowned in scarlet, a fiery crimson mask concealing her identity.

Their movements were sensual, his hand perched atop the small of her back, her opposing hand clasped his shoulder. Their eyes met as they danced around the room, ignoring all around them.

Since the stroke of eleven, they'd been dancing together. Anyone who tried to intervene was simply banished. Anyone who came within a foot of them was pushed away by some invisible force field.

It was the autumn after the fall of Lord Voldemort, the last year for the Golden Trio. Each was happy in their own way. Harry had Ginny, Ron had Quidditch and Hermione had her books. Ron and Hermione had tried to make a go of it, but had amicably broken up after a month.

A tall wizened wizard watched as the masked duo danced, in sync with each other. A twinkle lit up his faded blue eyes.

The stroke of midnight sounded throughout the room, masks fell off as the magic dictated. Gasps could be heard all over the room, then silence fell.

Shock emanated throughout the room.

In the center of the Great Hall, Severus Snape stood, his silver mask lying forgotten on the ground. Hermione Granger in front of him, her crimson mask had floated down to land on top of its silver companion.

"Finally." A soft whisper tore through the room.

All watched as the dark head descended to the shorter brunette. All waited for her to push him away, smack him or curse him.

Nothing of the sort happened.

Her lips parted in anticipation, her eyes closed slowly, a splash of rose bloomed on her cheeks.

Softly, his lips touched hers, a wet ardent proposal of more delights to come. Her lips parted to accept his proposal, kissing him back. His hands tightened on her waist as he brushed against her lightly.

Pulling back from him slowly, her eyes opened, seeing only his face. Rigid features bespoke no emotions, awaiting her rejection or worse….

Gently she lifted a hand to caress his cheek. "A Halloween kiss, a perfect way to start." Taking his arm, she led him out of the Great Hall and down to the dungeons.

A light aura embraced them as they walked into the shadows.

Inspiration for this: last scene in Casper the Movie & the dancing scene w/ the vamps in Van Helsing. Don't ask, just imagery in my mind, kinda twisted this into a weird one-shot! Plz R&R!
