Draco Malfoy and the Order of the Phoenix
Part 1:
Draco woke with a start. It had been two months since his girlfriend had sent him an owl, and he worried. He didn't know if something was wrong or not, but he woke up in a cold sweat, worrying about her.
Even though she lived in the States, and he in the heart of England, it would never take an owl two months to deliver a letter, especially when that owl was his.
His mother and father wanted to know what had happened to that owl, but all he told them was that she was out every night hunting, and in the day, he said that he sent someone a letter. The letter part was true, but the hunting part was not.
He hated lying to his parents, especially his father, Lucius Malfoy. His mother, Narcissa Malfoy, allowed Draco to get away with almost anything. If his father ever found out who he was sending letters to, he would, with out a doubt, kill him in the most painfully way ever thought of.
Draco walked to his window and pulled it open. Normally he would sleep with them open to let his owl in, but that night was different. He thought that the owl was dead, so he closed it. As he opened it, he heard a hoot in praise as his pure black owl flew into his bedroom.
"Bout time you showed up, girl. I was getting worried about you," he stroked her feathers before continuing, "two months away? Did you get lost, or did Hermione not send you a letter in reply for two months?"
The owl hooted again and lifted her leg up to revile a piece of parchment tied to her leg. Draco untied it with trembling hands and fed the owl some owl treats.
"Dear Draco,
I am sorry for not replying to your letter in two months. I was not at home when she arrived, and my parents did not know where I was at the time. The owl had a hard time finding where I am, but know that she knows, I want you to know as well, but please do not tell your parents, and burn this letter after you read it.
I am at Number Twelve Grimwald Place. Harry, Ron, Ginny, Fred, Gorge, Sirius, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, Tonks, Mad-eye Moody, and Lupin are all here. I asked them if you could come and stay, and they said yes, but you cannot tell anyone nor can you send mail out. Tell your parents that you are staying at a friends house for the rest of the summer. Stand outside tonight if you want to come; they are coming for you at midnight. If you are not outside by 12:30, they will leave. Leave a note for your parents.
See you soon, my love!
Love,
Hermione Granger"Draco looked at the clock and started packing and writing his parents a note. It was a quarter to twelve, and Draco did not want to be late. This was the time to show that he is good enough for Hermione. This was the time to show everyone that he is good enough to be with a Gryffindor.
As he started down the stairs, Draco heard an ominous voice call from behind him:
"Where might you be going this time of night, Draco?"
