Title: Probie's Hands
Rating: T, I guess. Maybe just a K+ but T to be safe.
Disclaimer: Not my characters. I'm just borrowing them for a couple of minutes at a time...
Summary: Abby wants McGee to try something new
Gibbs was almost sorry he was overhearing this conversation.
No, actually, Gibbs was quite sorry.
"I'm telling you Tony, I'm trying to convince him. It's not really his thing though," Abby was saying. "Oh, come on Abs, it'd be a waste if he didn't!" Tony was adamant about something.
"I know Tony, I keep telling him he'd be really really good at it, and his hands are perfect for it, I mean, have you ever checked out his hands?" Tony cleared his throat. "I'll take your word for it Abs."
Just then, Kate walked in. "You guys talking about McGee and his hands again?" she asked with a smirk. Abby looked at her friend, and sighed heavily. "I'm still trying to convince him to try it. He won't budge. He has no sense of adventure." Tony snorted. "Not surprised." They all turned and looked as McGee appeared.
"Is it just me, or are my ears burning?" he asked with a grin. Abby smiled at him. "It's three against one McGee. You have to try it now. It'd be a lowdown dirty shame to waste hands like yours."
McGee looked at them one by one, with a sly smile, and a sparkle in his eyes. "Well Abs, actually, I signed up for lessons this morning. First one is next week." Abby looked at him, wide-eyed and delighted. "Really?" she asked, hopefully. McGee walked over to her and draped an arm around her shoulder. "Abs, if I'm willing to get a tat on my backside for you, this is a cinch. Trust me." It was right about then that Tony noticed Gibbs behind the barrier behind his desk, apparently listening in.
"So Probie, you already got what you need, or do you need to go shopping at one of those "specialty" stores? I can save you some cash if you're really serious. Make sure you like it first before you spend the money on one of your own. I've got one you can borrow, if you want." McGee looked at him, and noticed, along with Abby and Kate, that Tony was motioning towards Gibbs' desk with his eyes, and winking.
"Uh, yeah Tony," McGee said, picking up the cue, "that'd be great. Thanks! When can I pick it up? I'll be needing it pretty soon." Abby giggled and did a little hop. "I'm so excited! I can't wait to see you try it!" Kate smiled, "You'll have to show us how you do it when you've got your technique perfected, Tim. I'm curious myself now."
The group paused as they heard Gibbs clear his throat, get up, grab his coffee, and abruptly exit the bullpen.
Abby grinned. "I don't think he realized we were talking about McGee taking up the guitar." Tony laughed, McGee chuckled, and Kate giggled, as they watched Gibbs, blushing slightly, disappear behind the closing elevator doors.
