Tainted Smile by Soulbird

Disclaimer I do not own Immortal Rain or any of its elements, I guess that's pretty obvious seeing as I'm writing a fanfiction about it.

Introduction – The Stranger

Skimming the outline of your gaze.

Is it enough?

If the starlight shines down upon you.

I'm almost sure that I can feel your light.

Those beautiful words.

That bittersweet sorrow.

I can take you with me.

I have enough beautiful words to last forever.

If you come with me,

I shall give you time without end.

I shall give you those beautiful words.

You can sing for eternity.

The church stood in the centre of the city. On Sundays, the villagers would dress up in their best outfits. The men in suits, the woman in fancy dresses and frilly bonnets and children would run around the square before entering, eager to sing hymns. This Sunday was like no other, the band got ready and the choir practised as the villagers slowly entered.

However, a stranger lurked among the people. The stranger stood at the back of the church, his young face unreadable and pristine. The choir began to sing. The stranger looked up, his eyes deep and profound.

His name was Yuca Collabell.

The choir began to sing. She stood up to her podium, opened her mouth and sung with all her heart. Her face moved with the rhythm of the music, her mouth perfected the beautiful harmonies.

Her name was Carmine Gold.

He watched her sing, he watched her smile, and he watched her step down from the podium, her golden hair falling delicately over her slender shoulders.

Her gaze fell to the back of the church, her eyes falling on this stranger.

His eyes met hers.

It was the beginning of something beautiful.

It was the beginning of something extraordinary.

It could only end in tragedy.
