1. The Accident

Chapter 1 : The Accident

The driver of the red Ford van wasn't an ordinary driver. No this driver was special, he was a Wizard. He wasn't used to the Muggle ways of transport and He found it hard to control the silly contraption that the Muggle's called a Car. Well in his case it was called a Van. The driver was called Diggory,Amos Diggory.Amos was on his way back home from his visit to a "friend" of his. He had a wife and he used to have a son called Cedric. But Cedric was dead now and Amos still found it hard to think of his own son being dead.

It was constantly on his mind.Amos decided to take Cedric off his mind for a couple of hours with some friendly Muggle drinks, with one of his Non-Wizard friends at the local pub. He didn't like having to dive the vehicle to the pub and then back home again, and he certainly shouldn't have not after he and his "friend" the lovely Mary had just been drinking some Muggle drink called Vodka.

It looked like water. Its even smelt like water Amos thought to himself afterwards. But it definitely hadn't tasted like water. No it had been an unusual taste whichAmos had liked. He and Mary had drank several 'triple shots' as they were called of this Vodka stuff andAmos had found himself unable to walk properly. But he had to go home and that's what he was now doing. Driving home drunk in a van he couldn't control.

That's when he hit something. It was a large something. A something that had a human like shape. No Amos said to himself No it wasn't a human. But it was and asAmos stopped the van the human moaned and moved ever so slightly. Amos ran up to the body which lay sprawled out on the hard road in front of his van.

He had left the headlights on and could see that there was a tremendous amount of blood coming from the body. It was a boy. And as soon as Amos got close enough he could see what the boy looked like. Amos knew who it was. "No!" He screamed at the top of his voice "What have I done?" The boy lay there motionless. He too was a Wizard and his name was Ronald Weasley.
