Another Day
" Kakashi! Come here. I picked up some Ice cre- "Gai dropped the plastic bag. The sight before him was hurtful to look at.
Gai did not like Tuesdays. Tuesdays were the days when Tenten went with Sakura, Ino, Hinata and Temari to do…whatever it was that kunoichi did. Maybe kill off rude boys, or a slumber party or whatever. He was never himself on Tuesdays.
"G-gai! It's not-"
Gai covered his hurtful surprised expression and leaned against the wall in a cool fashion.
"It's not what it looks like eh?"
On Tuesdays Neji disappeared. He heard a group of Neji's fans whispering about spotting him in the woods. Meditating. Lord, Tuesdays were annoying. Gai cracked his knuckles and prepared to go…somewhere. He wasn't even in the mood. He never was, not on a Tuesday.
Gai took in the sight before him. Staring and truly scaring the other occupants of the room. "Maybe I should go –"
The taijutsu fighter stood straight and waved a hand in silence.
"Nah. Stay. I'll just leave" And true to his word, he turned and left, leaving the bag with a carton of vanilla ice cream to melt.
Iruka squirmed beneath Kakashi on the bed, guilty.
He couldn't even spend time with his favorite person! Lee was currently -ahem- getting acquainted with Suna's new Kazekage (Gai thought Lee would explode from embarrassment when he caught them kissing)... Gai recalled how Lee fidgeted while blurting out why he wouldn't be spending anymore Tuesdays with his sensei. Gai smiled. At least someone was happy.
"Gai-sensei! You look depressed. Has something happened? Who did this? I'll –"
Maito Gai just listened to his favorite pupil rant off the things he'd do to the guy who put him in such pain. He chuckled. And then laughed.
Lee stared warily at his now laughing teacher. Clearly put off by the change in emotions.
Then he started laughing too; glad to have his sensei back.
Gai sat on a stool at Ichiraku, failing to notice Kakashi on his right.
When he did notice, he stood up; ready to zoom away when Kakashi snatched him back.
"We should talk some more. We are 'eternal rivals' after all."
"And as such we should talk with fists not words"
"It's been a year and a half. Don't start." Gai laughed. "It ended a year and a half ago. There it nothing more to start."
The dark haired jounin twisted from the other's grip and smiled a fake smile at Kakashi,( It didn't even sparkle! GASP!)and then left. On Tuesdays, Kakashi always found him. Somehow, some way.
"Gai-sensei!" He turned and saw Lee running towards him, Gaara walking slowly behind him. He was tackled and hugged and shaken. He heard Lee ask
"Are you alright now Gai-sensei?"
"I'm fine Lee! Just another day"
End
Dear god. Shoot me. Just like. Kill me dead. I LOVE Gai and Lee.They are just, to quote my friend David, "Simply ORGASMIC!" XD
