He knew she was gone but he never could get her out of his head, she could have annoyed him to no end and he still would have loved her actually that's what he loved about her. Even when she was sad she had to power to be happy in a good way. She always had that sparkle in her eye except when she was fighting with Rory, that hurt her she missed her daughter so much; and Rory still kicks her self she thinks Lorelai's death was her fault it wasn't. As he put the pictures away he decided he would go visit her to his surprise Rory was there and she was crying taking to her mom who had gone to soon. She really did he would never understand why Lorelai got taken from this world everyone loved her everyone who had even said a quick Hello How you Doing missed her especially Luke & Rory. She was apologize to her mom for probably the 1000 time she had done that thinking that she would come back. Lorelai Victoria Gilmore died on March,10,2009 she was hit by a drunk driver on the way to go see her daughter. Her tombstone read: She was loved by many , She was a perfect mother and soon to be wife, and friend, She will be missed everyday. Luke Danes and Rory Gilmore will always love you more than anything.
