Disclaimer: Simply, if I had the option, the females in the Sly games would have a much bigger part. For instance, there would be an entire game devoted to Anrea 'One-eye' Cooper or Jing King or something like that.
Seagulls are cawing. Why do they always have to ruin my perfect sleep? I shake my head and get out of my bed in the Captain's quarters. As I dress I can hear my first mate, Salty-skinned Mark ( a spider monkey), yelling orders at the rest of the crew. Its good to know that I, Anrea 'One-eye' Cooper, am covered when it comes to my crew.
So, technically I have two eyes, but I wear an eye-patch because of a permanent scar I have over my left eye. Over the years people have come to think I lost my eye in some kind of heroic battle to keep my treasure.
This is obviously not true because I never keep my treasure on my Pirate Ship. Where? Sorry, not even my first mate knows that.
Stepping out on the deck over a dozen voiced call:
"Good morning, Captain!"
As I breath in the salty air I think to myself that this will surely be a good day. After all, Lefwee won't expect us to attack from the front of his ship. To cliché, so obvious he'd never expect it. Well, that is the way I work. They never see me coming until their boat is sinking and I am onboard fighting the captain.
"Morning, chaps! Get the cannons ready for some serious fighting!"
As Salty-skinned Mark walks up to me for the morning report, I beat him to it.
"Let me guess, you have seen Lefwee's ship? Again, he looks ready to fight? Well, he is 'the smartest man on the seven seas.' Which obviously means he won't expect us to attack as we sail past. Hopefully he knows better than to attack us head on."
"Captain, how do you always know what I am going to say?"
"Call it a captain's brain or perhaps Women's intuition. Not the point. Do we have all of the ammunition out?"
"Of course. We are ready to fire when ever you say so."
"Good. I'm going in to get some breakfast….make sure we don't get too close to the ship."
"Aye-aye!"
After breakfast, I go back to my quarters and get in my fighting clothes. Black pants and a red shirt. My eye patch, of course, and a black pirate hat that has a skull and cross bones on it. Ready to take on Lefwee.
Salty-skinned Mark and Slopp-nosed Pete ( a sea cow who has some anger problems) were ready to attack when I came out.
"Remember, you fire the cannons, and I will wait until we're close enough then jump onto his boat and attack him."
The thundering sound of cannon balls hitting Lefwee's boat gave me a new courage. As my ship got closer and closer to Lefwee's I ran across the deck and jumped onto his.
Time to fight.
