A Silent Good-Bye
She smiled up at him knowing that this was good-bye. She didn't want to leave but he had told her it was all for the better. She looked into his deep eyes and begged him to let her stay. She felt the tears begin to sting her eyes.
He looked at her. She was trying to hold back tears. He really didn't want her to leave but he thought that she deserved better. He loved her more than life itself. He had never had someone to love, to cherish. She was his light, shining in his dark clouded mind.
She leaned toward him and pressed her lips to his. She had never told him how she felt. He was her knight in shining armor. He had broken and mended her heart. He had saved her countless times. He was all she ever wanted. She soon broke the kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck and cried into his shirt.
He placed a hand on her head while an arm wrapped around her. He allowed her tears to stain his cloths. He held her until she was reduced to mere sniffles. The, he backed away from her. He didn't want to say good-bye. He didn't want to lose her, his light, again. He uncomfortably shifted his weight and smiled. It was a sad smile that graced his lips.
She looked at him one last time before turning around. She walked away from him, her first and only love. She tightened her hands into fists, her knuckles turning white from the strain. She walked without looking back. He was gone. Gone forever. Cone from her sight, her life, but he remained etched in her memories. She walked away as the tears of love and sorrow flowed down her face, calling out a silent good-bye.
