Don felt the plane losing altitude at an alarming rate, as they made their quick descent. He clutched his armrests until his knuckles whitened, while his ears started popping wildly. A woman was screaming from somewhere behind him, but he didn't know who it was. He only knew one person on the small FBI aircraft.

This wasn't supposed to happen.

He was supposed to be coming home after enduring a dull conference. Charlie came with him to explain how he solved one of their tougher cases. His brother wasn't even supposed to be there, but he insisted that he'd do a better job explaining his equations than Don could.

"Charlie…"

He looked over at his younger brother, who was sitting in the aisle seat of the small plane. His eyes were clenched shut and he was pale with fear. Don moved his hand over slowly and placed it on his brother's.

Time seemed to slow and the loud disturbing sounds of the engines started to fade away.

This time belonged to the brothers now…

Charlie opened his eyes slowly and looked at his older brother. He was scared and confused telling from his body language, but Don couldn't blame him. Their plane just started plummeting a few moments after the "Fasten Your Seatbelt Sign" was lit.

Don just squeezed his hand unable to form words, which probably wouldn't have been heard over the roaring of the machinery. All he could do was slightly nod his head, but Charlie knew what that nod meant. Don was telling him that everything was going to be all right.

They both knew that they were most definitely going to die so Don's nod didn't mean that they'd get out of this alive.

The nod meant that everything between them that they hadn't resolved was all right…

There were so many things that they had to tell each other…

There were so many things that hadn't been said…

But with that simple connection of their eyes they knew…

And no words had to be spoken…

Charlie relaxed slightly and his eyes softened.

Then their eyes both said in unison what needed to be said.

If they had looked out the window they would've seen the dark ground below them coming closer and closer.

But they didn't…

Then the plane made impact and their connection was broken.

But they were all right, because they finally knew that the other had always loved them…

End

A/N: I started this last year during my biology final and haven't worked on it until now. "Soft Target" fueled me with Eppes brother spirit and told me to post this so…I hope you liked it… please review…
