Author's Note: Stupid idea I came up with yesterday and just HAD to write. Read it. Read the note at the end if you don't get it. Read it again. And then stone me to death.

Disclaimer: Hikaru no Go ≠ mine.

Itsuka

Touya Akira didn't know why he hadn't thought of it before! Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that humor and wit weren't exactly his forte... Well, never mind that. In all likelihood, Shindo still wouldn't supply him with an answer, but for some reason Akira was quite looking forward to getting a rise out of his rival.

Akira sighed despite himself. The boy really had quite an effect on him, didn't he?

He went to action the next day, after finishing up a game in the Go salon. "By the way, Shindo," he began as he cleared the stones off the board. "I believe that today would be the day for you to tell me about Sai..."

He watched in amusement as Shindo froze, looking quite panicked. "I... I never said that!"

"Yes, you did," Akira pressed on calmly. "Are you not going to keep to your promise?"

"What... I never..." Shindo sputtered. "I said I'd tell you someday!"

"And that is today."

"You can't just decide that!"

"You said 'itsuka'," Akira pointed out.

"Exactly!"

"And today is 'itsuka'."

"What? No, Touya! I..." He trailed off as he thought of the date.

November fifth.

Shindo scowled, looking less than amused. "Oh, go to hell."

Note: Ahah... haha... yeah... Explanation! "Someday," in Japanese, is "itsuka." But "itsuka" also means "fifth day of the month"...

Yes. Someone shoot me now please.
