"But, Sirius, You've got to believe me!"
"Harry," the older voice soothed condescendingly, "I know you've been through a fright, being port-keyed away and everything, but there is no reason for you to lie!"
"He's back, I'm telling you, I saw him!" Harry turned towards his headmaster despairingly. "Please," he pleaded, "you've got to believe me."
The headmaster shook his head, looking older than ever, and his twinkle-less eyes surveyed Harry sadly. His voice was quiet, holding leagues of disappointment, "I'm sorry my dear boy, but I cannot believe lies no more than support them."
Green eyes shone with pure betrayal, glaring at who he though was his mentor, and then turning towards the man that had represented a father. "I'll make them believe me, I'll fight Voldemort by himself if I have to, just leave me alone." And with that, the boy-who-lived limped out of the office, Fawkes flying behind him.
Ron paced inside the common room, distressed for his friend.
"I mean can you believe him? I always knew he couldn't get enough detention, too bad I never acted on it."
The red-haired male spun around and held Hermione at wand-point. "How could you?" he growled, angrier than ever. "We've been friends with him for four years, tell me when he's last told a lie."
The ignorant, yet horribly book-smart, teen flustered, not unlike a certain minister. Finally, apparently too shocker for words, she spun off, leaving the room void except for Ron.
There was a thud at the door, and an angry shout of "Let me in!" Ron shot to the door, opening it for his haggard friend. "Bloody Hell Harry, what happened to you."
Harry sighed, and with Ron's help staggered to a cough. "Everything, abso-bloody-lutely everthing."
Fawkes settled near Harry's injured ankle, and pearly white tears soaked into the wound, closing and healing it as it made contact. The black-haired boy smiled sadly at the phoenix, whispering to it quietly. "I guess you believe me then." The phoenix nodded.
