Title: "I do"

Author: cruentus-luna

Summary: "The wedding was exactly as they had imagined it." Draco/ Harry one-shot.

Chapter: 1/1

"I do"

The wedding was exactly as they had imagined it.

Nearly everything was covered in white and the deep red carpet contrasted perfectly with the marble floor.

All the flowers they had wanted were there set in beautiful glass vases.

Draco couldn't help but fiddle with the cuffs of his shirt, he felt unbelievably nervous.

He eyes slowly scanned the room and he sighed. He didn't even know half the people there.

The minutes ticked by in silence.

He threw a tentative smile at Pansy, who sat rigid in the crowd in an attempt to ease his anxiety.

He didn't receive a smile in return; instead, Pansy was glaring holes into a figure beside him.

Draco nervously fidgeted with his tie.

Suddenly, the music started and the doors swung dramatically inwards.

Draco felt his breath catch in his throat as he saw the figure slowly walk down the isle.

He was beautiful.

White robes contrasting perfectly with ebony black hair.

Bright green eyes no longer hidden by thick, dark frames, no longer tainted by sadness.

Full lips, curved into a barely contained smile.

Harry. His beautiful Harry.

Draco made a small noise at the back of his throat, but no-one noticed.

The wizard at the end of the alter began the ceremony.

Draco didn't notice, he was too busy staring at the man in front of him.

I can't believe this is actually happening.

"…take this man, Harry Potter…in sickness and in health…"

He only heard fragments of the question, too enamored by Harry's brilliant smile.

But he knew what to say next.

"I do," said a voice so different from his own.

Draco felt his heart speed up, he palms start to sweat as he waited for the wizard to finish his next question.

Harry loved him, right?

He had to.

The wizard paused, waiting for Harry's answer.

Please Harry…please.

"I do."

No.

Draco felt the tears he had been holding back stream down his face.

No, no, no.

He collapsed onto his hands and knees and sobbed uncontrollably.

No-one noticed his tears or heard his anguished cries.

The room broke into loud cheers and applause.

Harry kissed his groom.

Cruentus-luna: For people who didn't get it…Draco's dead but he's standing where the groom is supposed to be as he's watching Harry being wed to someone else. Hmm, did anyone catch that? Was it too subtle? Or was it so blatantly obvious that everyone got it from the beginning? R/R folks and tell me what you thought of it!
