She was supposed to have the world. She was supposed to set it on fire. She was supposed to have what I didn't have. She was supposed to have everything. That was the plan. That's always been the plan.

Lorelai crossed her arms tightly to her body, rocking back and forth, sitting on the edge of Rory's bed.

They betrayed me. I always knew they would. But Rory. I never thought she would hurt me so badly.

I worked my entire life to get her into university. I was willing to do anything for that kid. I would've publicly humiliated myself for her sake. We always had a plan. She knew the plan inside out.

Now the plan is gone. She knew the plan. She knew it, and she still threw it out the window.

She went to them instead.

Lorelai stared around at her daughter's old room. The walls were covered in travel posters and Yale paraphernalia. A giant bookshelf was exploding with books.

Lorelai's glance fell on a book on Rory's bedside table. It was the book Lorelai bought for her after she fractured her risk. She picked it up and looked at it for a minute before she flung it at the wall.

She stared at it as it bounced off and hit the floor. She stared at it on the floor for a few minutes as tears rolled down her face.

Her best friend had betrayed her.
