If If I say what I feel, so much could go wrong. If no one but me knows, then there's no reason to hurt her. If I tell her I love her, I'll make her a target. They'll go after her to get to me. Besides, what chance have I got with someone like her? What right do I have to even think about it? Who could love an outlaw like me, anyway?

If I say what I feel, I could lose so much. I can be content with what I have, with just his friendship. If I tell him I love him, I'll scare him off. He'll put as much distance between us as possible, to keep me safe. Besides, what good would it do? I'd rather keep my mouth shut and maintain at least the appearance of dignity. How could he love an irritable bitch like me anyway?
