Escape
Michael, Jin, and Sawyer are thrown into the pit, then locked in. They attempt to push open the mesh of branches that traps them under the ground to no avail. They finally give up and sit and wait.
As Sawyer and Jin doze off, Michael is wondering how he will ever find Walt. He punches the wall, upset and feeling guilty. Suddenly the light bulb lights up.
"Sawyer, Jin, wake up"
"They come back yet"
"No, I think I know how to get us out of here"
"I'm not getting on Jin's shoulders again"
"No, you idiot, we are in an underground trap"
"So?"
"Made of DIRT"
Jin looks at Michael confused.
Michael motions digging.
"We can dig out"
"Ya and then those others will come and probably kill us this time."
"Look the sun's almost set, we'll wait til its dark so they won't see us"
"Whatever, its your stupid idea."
They wait. Jin is happy, thinking that they may actually escape. Sawyer's a grump as usual. But Michael walks around the trap testing the walls, trying to see through the branches above to know where they could come out.
Finally night falls. Michael has already begun excavating on what he hopes to be a promising spot, uses a branch to break up the dirt.
Jin comes over to help. He carries the dirt away as Michael digs.
Michael looks over to Sawyer, who is trying to sleep.
"You gonna help us out"
"Looks like you can handle it fine. Besides when they come over, I'm not gonna be the one getting in trouble."
