Young Dark Link stared out the window. Shadow folk children were frolicking outside. He never went outside. He wasn't interested. He never had friends; he was too shy to ask. And if he DID get any friends, he was quick to act. If something went wrong, he'd flip on someone else's head. The only friend he really had, was Shadow, the black fairy that was his fairy for the longest time.
"You should go out for a walk. You look pale." Shadow told him, 'nudging' him.
"Shaddap! What if someone wants to talk to me? What'll I do?"
"You're still worried about that Dark Saria incident, aren't you?" Shadow said. That did it. Dark Link started to laugh at the memory. "Hoo boy. He's cracked. He's gone nuts. Dark Link! DARK LINK! GET A GRIP!" DL got a grip all right. He grabbed Shadow and practically strangled him. "Koff…Good grip…"
"Don't…remind me…of that day…" (Author's Note: I won't tell you about the DS incident. Trust me; it wouldn't be a good idea. DL told me personally, and I still have trouble keeping the food down. Signed, Zero) DL said, keeping a firm hold on his fairy partner. He released him, the time seem to slow. Then, all of a sudden, time snaps. He fainted, and woke up a while after. "Ugh…what happened? Hold on…my voice is deeper…" He got up off the floor and looked in a mirror. "…I'm taller…" He checked down the pair of tights he was wearing. "ALL RIGHT!"
"What? What?" Shadow inquired.
"Umm…none of your business, Shadow. Personal thing."
"Whatever."
Then, a weird man in black armours on a black horse came up outside his door. Dark Link ran to the window.
"I am Ganondorf. I need you for a little…mission." He said.
"I dunno. What's in it for me?" Dark Link questioned. This man was fearsome. The look in Ganondorf's eyes made him feel uncomfortable.
"…A set of weapons, power, life. You won't go down easy."
"You want me to work for you. If that's the case, you're gonna hafta…grease a palm, if you catch my drift."
"And 500 rupees." Ganondorf replied. "And if anything goes wrong, I've got your back."
"Okay. What do I hafta do?"
"Defeat Link." Dark Link had no idea what he was talking about. Who was Link? Why did this man want to kill him? How was he going to kill him? Where was this going to be? Nonetheless, he accepted the job. He hopped on Ganon's horse and they rode off to the water temple, in Lake Hylia. Ganon led DL through several corridors, then through the final door.Dark Link exaimened his surroundings: He had been led into a chamber covered with a layer of water about 3 inches deep,a lone island in the middle of the roomwith a tree in the center. "Stay there. When he comes into the door…" Ganondorf made a slashing motion across his throat. He left the room, laughing evilly.Dark Link nodded, not quite sure what he was getting into. He took something from his tunic pocket. He took out 16 of them, giving half to shadow. "Okay.Crazy 8's.Left of the dealer. Starting card is the 3 of clubs. Start us off, Shadow." This was going to be the longest wait of Dark Link's life.
