Jack walked around the Pumpkin Patch one night. His long, thin legs stepped over pumpkins. He stepped up to a rather large pumpkin and picked it up. He examined it. He shook his head and set the pumpkin down softly on the ground. He stepped around a few more pumpkins, and then he saw what he was looking for. He knelt down by a medium sized pumpkin and his eyes lit up. He picked the pumpkin up off the ground and snapped the vine it was attached to. He headed then headed for a strange looking hill. He stepped to the top and then the hill started moving. He walked across, what was now a bridge, and onto the other side of the Pumpkin Patch.

He walked over a thick stone bridge and to a gate. He pushed open the gate with his long, bony fingers. He walked through the gate and in front of him was a long, wooden bridge that had cracks and was held together with ropes. He stepped on the first of many boards and it cracked a bit. He hesitated for a moment, and then continued walking. When he stopped, he found himself at a large door. He pushed his way through. He stepped on top of a platform, and it went up. He sighed and stepped off the platform.

"Even more walking…"

He walked a long trail of wooden boards with a greenish tint in the moonlight, and continued up until he found himself at, yet another door. This time, he knocked on the door. He heard giggling, and said, "Hello? Is anyone in there?"

The door opened, and Jack looked down and saw a small child dressed in a skeleton outfit, "Good evening! I brought you the pumpkin you requested."

Two other children, about the same height, walked up behind the child dressed in a skeleton outfit, "We'll be taking this." Said the boy, dressed in a devil costume.

Jack knelt down and handed the pumpkin to the three children. They walked away, without closing the door, and set the pumpkin down. The boy in the devils outfit came back to the door, "Thank you for the pumpkin Jack."

"Anytime Lock." Lock closed the door, and Jack scratched his head, "Hm…he's never said thank you to me before…Oh well." He turned around and back down the tower.

Instead of taking the long way back to his house, he walked down a hill beside the stone bridge and walked through a sewer pipe that led to the center of Halloween Town, where he lived.

He walked up to a gate. He opened it and walked up the steps to his home. He opened the door to his home and walked in. When he lied down on his bed, he thought about earlier.

"Lock saying thank you…to me? Hm…I wonder…" He continued to think, until he drifted off to sleep.
