Wine-dark blood dripped to the ground. An ocean of life spilled upon the rocks. A small river ran, a crimson-fire waterfall crashing down the rock ledges.

Bright, sparkling, arctic-frozen-fire eyes, now dulled to midnight waves, gazed upwards. Jagged bolts of lightning-pain flashed within, darkening rather than brightening.

Time flew, while I watched, I begged. I told him I loved him for the first time. I saw him smile, saw the hopejoylove that was reflected back, lightening the darkness –waves like a fallen star that's plungingplummetingfalling towards the flames.

I heard him mumble those same words back, happiness woven tightly within the word-strands.

Time flew on storm-worn wings, leaving pain, loss in its path. Time wouldn't stop for anyone, or anything.

But, Time did stop, that once. When pain-filled azure eyes finally closed. Time did stop in its tracks, stood still, frozen wind upon the trees.

An eternity later, time unfurled its mighty wings, and once again took flight.

And upon that rocky, hell-graced hill, where death had walked scant minutes before, Jack had said his last goodbyes to the one he loved.
