Unfair
Nothing is mine. Everything belongs to the amazingly talented Rumiko Takahashi.

It seemed unfair to her that she could never have the same effect on his life as he had had on hers.

She had only been alive a few months, after all. She had known him almost her entire existence, and pathetic as it was, he was one of the only people she had considered a friend. His harsh apathy had angered her at first, but in the end it was for the best. He was right all along. If she couldn't earn her freedom herself, she didn't deserve it.

So she earned it. It was not quite as she had intended, but nonetheless she was free.

And as he stood above her, watching her fade away, it suddenly occurred to her what an impact he had had on her existence. And she felt it was unfair. After all, his life was long and filled with adventure. Faces came and went, and she wondered if he ever bothered to remember any of them. She imagined her face would slowly drift away into nothing more than a whisper of a name, until that too would fade away with time. She was no more than a blink in his life. Easily overlooked. Were he to write his life story she would be a blot of ink, barely worth the paper it was written on. Yes, it was unfair. But she was not about to complain.

It was not as though he would listen anyway.
