Sam Williams, father of three and renter of the casino, sat in the family room with his wife and his daughter and two sons. When Sara and Warrick entered the room, he stood up, concerned. He looked eager to answer any questions and from his comportment and cooperation, the CSI's got the impression Sam Williams had both his rich feet on the ground. He seemed like a standup guy. Sara asked for him to accompany her to the A/V lab, so she could show him the video, while Warrick stayed behind.
As the speckled black and white security tape flickered to the end of the clip, Sara turned to Sam.
"Was that little boy your son Mr. Williams?" She asked. Sam nodded in confirmation. Now he was worried.
"That's Brandon," he added hastily. Sara took note of the boy's name.
"Mr. Williams, how old is Brandon?" Sara asked studiously.
"He's nine. Wh-What did he do? What happened?" Sam asked, his voice wavering in fear. Sara noted his concern.
"Mr. Williams, do you know a Stan Andrews?" Sara continued questioning, trying to keep on task, which was hard because she felt very bad for Sam. She knew she had to stay objective, but she couldn't help but think Sam's reactions were real. Sam sighed nervously like it was his first breath in a minute or two. He paced.
"I knew him professionally. Something happened to him, didn't it?
"Explain to me your relationship," Sara added. Sam fidgeted. He looked at his family in the room across the hall, and turned back to Sara, looking especially flustered.
"Stan was an employee, he… used to work for me," Sam Williams explained. He lowered his voice and took a step towards Sara like he was going to share a secret. "But… about, a year… I guess it was about a year ago, he… was charged with child molestation… and after that, I fired him. Things got nasty… I know this looks bad on my account… he was a nasty human being. But I wouldn't want him dead," Sam said. This whole child molestation thing was new to Sara. She was also surprised how forward Sam was with the killer evidence. He was a rich man, Sam Andrews. She didn't know what relevance that had, but she thought there might be a connection.
