First times

Zechs and Wufei were partnered together. That was a weird thing. Though both of them had the reputation of not being able to hold partners for very long, I also know Lady Une was dead against people involved in some kind of relationship outside work, being partners. It was the very reason I kept my personal business private from anyone at work. Oh well, there's a first time for everything.

Of course, the so-called relationship between agent 05 Dragon and agent 06 Wind was unconfirmed, but rumours went fast even in this business and they must have reached Une's ears as well. I watched how Zechs moved his things to Wufei's office. I saw the reluctance on his face as he carried a stack of files to his new desk. With my office being right across it and my workload being quite low, I took the liberty of watching them for a bit. Wufei barely even looked up as Zechs entered and the older one was out of the room in no time again, fetching more things.

Now I saw Wufei looking up at the things on the desk opposite of his. I quickly pretended to be searching for something in case he decided to look my way, but from under my bangs I could see him throwing a questioning look at the top of the pile.

Zechs entered the room again with a new stack of files and Wufei pretended to be working again. Zechs put the files down next to the other stack and then took the object Wufei had previously shown interest in. From the way he put it on his desk, I figured it was a photograph. I couldn't see of who it was, though and neither could Wufei.

He decided to change that the moment Zechs was out of sight again. He reached over to turn the picture around. As soon as he'd seen it he put it back in its place again and this time he seemed to really resume his work. Damn it, now I was curious too.

Zechs returned with what seemed to be the last box of items and finally sat down. He started moving things such as note blocks and pens to his drawers and soon enough I lost my interest. I glanced at the clock and then at my work, making an estimation of what I could get done today. Then I settled back to work, as did the two in the office across mine. The day went on as if nothing ever happened.

I'll explain about this story. On 5x6ml (yahoo) every 2 weeks a new snippet challenge is announced. The previous chapter belonged to the very fist challenge and this one to the second challenge. Do not ask me to continue, I probably won't. This just got stuck in my head.

Oh, and there is way too little of this pairing, fellow writers!
