Hey everyone! This is my first fan fiction, so go easy on me! Reviews with ideas are welcome! This chapter is going to be a little short because it is a summary of Saphira's past. Hope you enjoy it! 

I don't own Katara, or Sokka…..But I do own Saphira! Yay! No, Saphira isn't like the story written by Christopher Paolini. LOL!

Chapter One My Past

Hello, my name is Saphria. I am 15 years old and I am a Waterbender. I have brown hair with golden streaks from the sun, even though we don't get much of it. I am about what I would say a good 5 feet and 2 inches. Not the tallest person in the world I know, but I am pretty tall for a female waterbender. I always wear my hair up I a bun type shape, and when I rarely take it down, well it's really long. But I fell it just gets in the way, so I pull it up. I have light blue eyes, with little star-like shadows when the sun shines on them. No one knows why they are there. But I like them.

I was born to a loving family, at the South Pole. My mother's name was Katira and my father's name was Ledi. They were both Waterbenders and were the best in my village. They had hoped to train the Avatar when he came to learn waterbending, but he has not come yet. I wonder what has happened to him.

One day, exactly four years ago, a Fire nation navy attacked my village. They showed know mercy to the people of my village and killed many of our loved ones. Many soldiers took prisoners and threaten to destroy anyone that tried to stop them. But my mother and father won't allow them to destroy the sacred Avatar temple that we had built. My parents fought back and even though they were the best waterbenders in of tribe, they were defeated. I lost both my parents that day. My best friend named Katara and her brother, Sokka, lost their mother. We cried for many weeks after that terrible day. We were the only ones that had lost someone. We refused to be comforted, unless it was by each other.

Then, three months later, the Fire nation navy came back. But this time they did not attack our village and take the rest of our goods. Instead they took me. Why, to this day I still don't know. They were very ruff and push me around. I struggled and then they knocked me out. When I came to, I was where I had never hoped to be, a Fire navy ship.

When they took me to the top deck, the captain told them to take me down to the lowest room and lock me in there. When I asked," Why did you take me from my village? I want to go back! I don't even know who you are!"
"You don't need to know who I am," he answered," and you're staying here till I say you can leave!" his voice was full of anger and hate. I had never heard such a sound and I had no idea why I was even here! I began to cry and the soldiers took me down to the room and locked me there.

That night I knew I had to escape. I had happened to have a pin to hold up my hair, so I used that to pry open the lock. Surprisingly, I was out of the room in five minutes! I guess Firebenders need to have better locks. This cheered me up a little.

But my happiness soon died after I saw the ten soldiers that were looking at me. I ran as fast as I could up on deck. By the time I stopped to catch my breath on deck there were 26 soldiers chasing me! "What on earth am I going to do?" I thought," I can't outrun them all!" Then an idea came to me. But it wouldn't be easy to pull off!
