„Don't you dare!"

Elizabeth Swann, soon-to-be Turner (hopefully, if everything went by the plan and there were no more interventions form parents, gosts, ancient curses and, far worse, old friends) tried to look strict and forbidding. And very proper. Without much success, one must say. Will adored the look. There was something in looking at her and seeing Miss Swann, a highborn lady who'd never ever even think about doing anything not approved by the society and know under all that cool exterior was his Elizabeth, quite ready to follow him (or even lead him) to another crazy adventure. His Elizabeth. His.

„But Elizabeth, you promised. You said if I get through the dinner with the old harpies without expressing in detail what I think about their „best wishes"…" Will tried to give his voice a whiny undertone like a proper uneducated smith would have. He knew it always gave Elizabeth hard time to keep from smiling. Especially after the discussion about fate and determinacy in William Shakespeare's works they'd had last evening.

„Cream of the local society not old harpies. And you definitely did not keep your mouth shut. What you said to Lady Hawthbury…"

„She didn't understand it. And she certainly deserved it. The way she said I was a nice young man although you might have done better and by the way, did you know dear James was back in Port Royal. Yuck!"

„Will! Even if she didn't understand Madeleine Lovegood surely did. She almost choked on her tea."

„From laughter. I like her. Do you think we might call her to have dinner with us again? And invite dear James also, seeing as he is back in Port Royal now. He must be lonely."

„And she is a very nice girl from well respected family. Will – are you planning what I think you are planning?"

„I don't know. What do you think I am planning?"

„Will…"

„Elizabeth."

Elizabeth looked into the laughing eyes of her fiancé. There were many pweople who didn't approve of their relationship. And some who did. But she had to confess she wasn't that interested in the „old harpies" approval anyway. And Anne Hawtbury had definitely had it coming. Maddy thought Will was cute. Elizabeth's father thought Will was a good man. And even James Norrington agreed William Turner was a brave and worthy man. So all in all…

Elizabeth laughed when her beloved pulled her into his embrace and proceeded to kiss her sensless under the flowering bushes in the governor's garden. The waves beat their eternal song on the far away sandy beach.
