A.N. Sorry for not updating in awhile. I just finished my grade and a ton
of projects and I had serious writer block. So, here I am. I'm going to
update this every chance I get, considering it's summer. So, I hope you
enjoy!
Chapter 4
Mrs. Higurashi was washing the dishes when she heard someone coming through the door. She expected Sota to pop in but he was not alone. There appeared to be a little girl beside him. She had strange clothes that were caked with mud but her hair was what appeared the strangest. It was nothing but empty white. It looked a little silky and suddenly Mrs. Higurashi had an urge to touch it but pushed it down and smiled.
"Why hello there. Who might you be?" Mrs. Higurashi thought that maybe Sota should not hang around her. Considering that she appeared to be a little mysterious.
In a monotone voice, Kanna said, "My name is Kanna. That is all I will tell you." She did not want anybody asking to many questions incase it might reveal her true identity.
"Don't be so rude Kanna. Your like the same age as me and we have to be good or else!" ,said Sota, a little to enthusiastically.
Mrs. Higurshi sent a death glare at Sota and then smiled again while saying, "Well Sota, what do you suppose I do?"
Sota sweat dropped and said, "I don't really know." His mother rubbed her forehead and said, "Do you have any place to stay and where is your mother?" She looked at Kanna to find her turning on and off the light in the kitchen.
"Amazing. How does this thing produce light yet it does not blow out? Just fascinating." Kanna thought out loud as she continued to work the 'fascinating' light bulb.
"That's a lightbulb dear, now, will you tell us where your home is?" said Mrs. Higurashi, now a little annoyed by her actions.
Kanna thought for a second and said, "I don't know. I've never been here before."
Mrs. Higurashi was a little shocked at this. 'Why is this child not at home. Guess it's time to take some action.' "Kanna, you will stay in our house until we can find your parents. Is that clear?"
"Yes Mrs. Higurashi." Said Kanna in her usual voice. "Good, now please get a change of clothes in my room. It's the first door you see. Go to the drawer and at the bottom are my child clothes. You can take as much as you want." Said Mrs. Higurashi.
So Kanna left but she didn't come back. That was quite odd so Sota went upstairs to check if she was okay. Kanna was looking around and seemed to be a little confused.
Sota walked towards her and said, "What's wrong Kanna?" Kanna looked straight into his eyes and said in a clear voice,
"What's a drawer?"
Sota face-faulted and then shot straight up and pointed at the drawer. Kanna thanked him and looked through the drawer and found a night gown. She changed and went back downstairs.
Sota was giving her odd looks because of what happened upstairs. She was doing pretty strange things and it confused. 'Maybe she's foreign' thought Sota as he sat in deep concentration.
Kanna walked up to Mrs. Higurashi and asked where she could sleep. She told her and Kanna slowly ascended the stairs.
"I think she maybe foreign, she didn't even know what a drawer was!" said Sota to this mother.
Mrs. Higurashi looked sternly at he son and said; "Now just because she acts differently and looks different, it doesn't mean she is foreign. She spoke perfect Japanese. Maybe she's from the feudal era like Inuyasha."
Mrs. Higurashi looked up at the clock and told Sota to go upstairs. As Sota ran up the stairs, she remembered something. She ran up the stairs but was to late.
A high pitch scream filled the air, followed by a clank and "OW!" Sota hit the wall and sat there dumbly. Kanna ran out of his room with a furious look and if you looked closely, even a faint blush.
"Opps! Sota, I forgot to tell you that Kanna took your room. Your gonna have to sleep in Kagome's room. Sorry about that." Mrs. Higurashi chuckled a little before returning to her room.
Which meant she left poor Sota to deal with a angry Kanna. So, he picked up his legs and dashed to Kagome's room but not before he got hit again with what ever she hit him with.
When Kanna looked at what she threw at him, she realized it was her mirror! So she grabbed it and held it close to her body. She did not want anything to happen to her only weapon. With the mirror close to her chest, she returned to her room.
As she got into the bed, she wondered one thing, 'What am I going to do?'
Kagura stopped at Naraku's new castle and jumped off her feather. After putting it back in place, she ran up the steps to Naraku. Her 'father' was inside, smirking his annoying smirk.
"Lord Naraku. I am afraid that Inuyasha has destroyed Kanna. Also, what the hell were you thinking! You led us straight to Inuyasha you bastard. When I- "
But before she could continue her sentence, Naraku pulled out Kagura's heart and squeezed. Kagura squirmed a little in pain and sent her hateful eyes at Naraku. "You just wait! I will be free one day."
Naraku chuckled at this and said, "Don't you get it yet? You are only pawns in this game. I just used you to capture the miko girl. You shall never be free, now leave!!
Kagura walked away slowly towards her part of the castle, which left Naraku to think of what he should do next. He thought, 'If Inuyasha comes to rescue her it will be his demise.' Naraku maniacally laughed and began to plan on what to do when Inuyasha arrives.
