A.N.: Sorry about the long wait. Yay! I have over thirty reviews and expect a sequel after this story is done. I was a little sick awhile ago but all I have now is a big headache so sorry if I make a few mistakes. Anyways, we are drawing near the end so be ready. But not now, anyways, on with the story!

Chapter 13

The sound of snores woke up the soul-stealing demon from her slumber. Green spots covered her vision and she felt a little dizzy. Kanna groaned and tried to lift herself from the ground but some kind of weight was preventing her. She looked down to see Souta had landed right on her!

"Gahhh!!" screamed Kanna and little tints of blush could be seen on her face.

"Augh."

Souta woke up when he heard a startling noise. He looked over at the source of the noise to see Kanna with her head turned away from him.

"Hey Kanna, what's wrong?"

"..."

Souta was getting used to Kanna not talking to him so he let it passed.

"Do you know where we are?"

"I have no clue."

"Then let's start looking."

Souta spotted a vine and began to climb it with Kanna following after him. He was following the light out and managed to get all the way to the top. He hopped onto the land and gasped in surprise.

"Wherever we are, it sure isn't Japan!"

A split second later, Kanna came out and also took a look around her.

"It appears that I am back home."

"Wait a minute, if this is your home then that means..."

Tears of happiness fell down his face as he jumped up and stroke a pose while yelling,

"I made it!"

"So..." asked Kanna sarcastically.

Souta dropped down and grabbed Kanna's hand, which caused her to blush slightly.

"Come on, lets go exploring!" With Kanna in hand, he dashed out in a random direction.

Feudal Era Field Behind Kaede Village:

Souta ran to a tree and stopped to catch his breath. He had ran all the way across a field and could see awesome views. The air smelt good but it sometimes smelt like cow manure but that was fine.

"So (pant) where do we (pant) go now?"

"I don't know. I've already seen everything around here. Somehow this place seems familiar. It's on the tip of my tongue."

"Why don't we look around that village over there? It seems to be a great place to explore."

Then suddenly it hit her. This was the village Inuyasha and that miko Kagome stayed at. She couldn't go there. It would be suicide.

"I don't really know if we should go there Higurashi. The people in there will not let me just walk in for I am a demon. Why don't we go somewhere else?"

She then noticed that Souta was already running to the village so Kanna went and tried to catch up.

Kaede's Village:

It was time for the farmers to check out there crops and tend to the animals. Everybody was in a good mood and it everything seemed to be fine. The farmers were working, the children were out playing, and the women were gossiping. But then, in a few moments, it would turn into chaos.

Souta got to the village and looked in awe at the strange houses. Everything seemed to be so different then back home. Some local men noticed Souta looking around and also noticed his odd looking clothing. They decided to walk up to him and interrogate him.

"Who might you be?"

"I'm Souta."

"Where did you get such strange clothing?"

"My mom bought it in a store."

Question marks filled the air as they wondered what the heck a store was. His clothing seemed to be familiar like that miko girl.

"Are you by chance related to a miko named Kagome?"

"Kagome, she's my sister. Do you know where she is?"

"We think we last heard of her when she was captured by this demon called Naraku. Very bad person indeed. Just gives me the creeps just to talk about him."

The men shivered to prove there point and then looked back at Souta. He seemed to be as pale as a ghost.

"What's wrong boy?"

"Nothing, I think I'll leave now. Kanna lets go."

Souta was about to turn around and walk back when a hand grabbed his shoulder. One of the men had grabbed him and had a serious look on his face.

"Do you mean Kanna the demon?" He said deadly.

"Uh... Yeah."

"Quick everybody, the white haired demon is here!"

People came from the huts and grabbed any kind of weapon they could find. The children ran inside to stay with their mothers and the men surrounded Souta.

Souta ran between the crowd of men and made a break for it. When he passed Kanna she looked at him and went to follow him. A swish was heard in the air as they were running. An arrow pierced the tree they were running by which made them run faster. Kanna took out her mirror and shot back the oncoming arrows.

"Why are they shooting at us?" asked Souta worriedly.

"They're not shooting at "us", there shooting at me. Go ahead of me so you don't get hit."

Souta nodded and speeded ahead of her while Kanna ran backwards to stop the arrows. Then, a bowman in the bushes came out and surprised Kanna but he seemed to be blinded by some of the leaves on his eyes. He shot and stray it went, right over her head.

Kanna looked to see where it would hit and then yelled in surprise. Using all her strength, she ran up to Souta and shoved him out of the way. The arrow struck her right shoulder and blood shot out from the wound. She bit her lip and decided to finally take action. Switching the mirror from her right hand to her left hand, she pointed it towards the villagers and whispered,

"Look into the mirror." It flashed and the villagers stood still and then collapsed in a heap.

Souta got up from the ground and dusted off his pants. He looked at Kanna and gasped. It was bleeding even worse and it looked like it really hurt.

"Kanna, why did you do that for me?"

Kanna chuckled and whispered,

"Couldn't let you get hurt again Higurashi."

"Let me help you then."

"No thanks."

Kanna grasped the arrow and pulled it out quickly. Blood that was darker then normal blood oozed out and Kanna kept in a groan of pain.

"Now you need my help."

Souta tore off part of his shirt sleeve and wrapped it around the wound. It stopped the blood flow a lot and it seemed to help.

"We have to wash it out so lets find water."

They began to wonder around and looked for any source of water and found a river near the village. Kanna washed it out and it seemed to look better.

"How long do you think it'll take for it to heal." Asked Souta.

"Only a couple of hours since I heal quickly, let's find someplace far away so that I can return the villagers souls."

"Okay!"

After a bit of searching the found a little grove full of trees. It was getting dark and Kanna had already released the trapped souls so it was time to sleep. Souta found a nice place beside a tree and made himself a bed. As he began to doze off he asked Kanna,

"Can we go and look for Kagome while were traveling?"

Kanna remembered her dream and knew something was going to happen to her but for some strange reason she wanted to make Souta happy.

"..., Sure."

"Thanks Kanna." With that done, he fell asleep.

Kanna looked at the moon and thought about her dream more and hoped that it would not happen to her. She looked around to check for anything unusual and when she found nothing, she fell asleep herself.
