A.N.: Big sorry for the long wait but I had to get my school stuff ready, soon I'll be back. I'll try to update if I have the time so be watchful. Anyways, on with the chapter!

Chapter 14

Souta slowly lifted his eyelids and rubbed them to get the sleep out. He glanced around and was relieved that he was indeed in the feudal era. He felt something roll against his leg and he looked down to see an apple. He picked it up quickly and munched on it noisily.

'Kanna must have got me the apple.' Thought Souta as he finished it down to the core and threw it into a nearby bush. As soon as he had thrown the apple, Kanna came out from behind him and tapped him on the shoulder.

Souta jumped up in surprise and sighed in relief when he realized who it was and relaxed his head on his tree. Something whacked him on the head and he rubbed his head. He picked up the item and found out that it was his apple.

"Kanna, why did you hit me with this." whined Souta.

"Why do you think?" said Kanna softly, with a hint of anger in her voice.

"I don't think I did anything wrong. Just tell me."

"You do realize that you ate my apple Higurashi."

Souta's face paled over and he turned slowly, only to be met with Kanna's foot. Swirls covered Souta's vision and Kanna marched over to him with a smug look.

"Next time, watch what you eat Higurashi. Come on, were almost there."

Souta rose and dusted off his pants and nodded. When he looked again at Kanna, he realized she had different clothes on. She wore entirely white and it seemed to make her already pale skin even paler if that was possible. It freaked him out a little but was also cool in a way.

"Where did you get those clothes?" asked Souta curiously.

"I cleaned my clothes while we were at your home."

"How come you always keep everything to yourself Kanna? At least tell me some sec-, Kanna! Wait for me!" screamed Souta as he noticed Kanna walk off without him.

"We have no time to waste Higurashi, the faster we get there, the faster we will find your miko sister. Now hurry up and get a move on, we will be there by sunset."

"Okay Kanna, but I have one tiny question."

"Well...?"

"Can I go to the bathroom?"

Kanna nearly face-faulted but held it in. She nodded and Souta ran off into the trees. Kanna rubbed her throbbing head to keep herself from getting a migraine.

"Can this get any worse?"

"GAHHHHHH!" Kanna twirled around to see a gigantic Wood Demon whisk Souta away.

Inuyasha's Camp:

Shippou stretched out his arms and yawned softly. All this searching was finally getting to him.

"Shippou, come over here and rest on Kirara. You've been walking all day." Sango said worriedly.

"Kay."

He hopped up and buried his body in Kirara's fur. Even though it was still daytime, Shippou was feeling sleepy. He was about to fall asleep when something reached his ears. He looked over at Inuyasha and could see that he heard it too.

Inuyasha sniffed the air and swore in surprise. He knew that scent and it smell exactly like Kagome brother.

"Why the hell is he here!?"

"Who is here Inuyasha?" asked Miroku, but Inuyasha was already to far to hear Miroku's question.

"Let's follow, him then. We'll find out soon enough."

Miroku nodded and jumped onto Kirara with Sango. Kirara let out a fierce roar and dashed off.

Forest of Cloudy Dreams:

Kanna made her way into the deep forest and could only here the breaking of twigs as her bare feet stepped over them. Kanna was not scared for she was used to this type of silence. When Kanna reached the end of the trail she had been following she saw it. It was a broken down Sanctuary which looked like it had once been a proud place. Kanna could smell ancient human blood mixed in with demon blood.

"A battlefield." whispered Kanna.

"You are correct Milady." said a voice from the sanctuary.

Kanna brought out her mirror and charged in to be faced by Souta. The wood demon held him by his arm and kept him in close range. Kanna could see his face and it looked like a normal human but he reeked of wood demon scent.

"Why have you brought me here?"

"For you to help me, understood? I help you, you help me."

"What make's you so sure that I will help you"

"Do you really want to save your little friend?" A dagger shot out from his sleeve and he held it to Souta's chest.

"Fine, I might help you. But first, first of all..."

"Yes..."

"Show me what I am to help you with."

"..., Fine. Follow me."

He led Kanna through a hallway and didn't see Kanna look at her mirror for a few seconds. After she looked, a smirk came on to her face. She had a plan and it would definitely work.

"Here it is."

He opened the gigantic door and they appeared to be in a alter room. A ray of light was lighting up a book that appeared to be hundreds of years old.

"Now, translate the book for me."

"No."

"What do you mean by NO!" He yelled in outrage.

"When I mean no, I mean this." She pulled out her mirror and the light surrounded both Souta and the wood demon. The wood demon collapsed while Souta was suspended in mid-air, and then turned into a stick.

"Souta, you can come out now."

"Is it safe?"

"Yes."

Souta ran out from behind the pedestal and gave Kanna a big hug.

"How did you know that wasn't me?"

"I looked through the mirror and I saw you. So I knew the other one was a fake."

"Why don't we find out what that book says. It looks really cool."

"I suppose it could help us. Okay, let's do it."

Kanna walked over to the book and lifted her mirror. She shot away the sun ray and the words seemed to come together on the page.

"Hmph. Simple reading trick. Now to read it."

Kanna looked at the page and read out loud,

"Whoever shall read this paragraph is the one who will make destiny. Ye shall bond with soul mate as soul mate will bond with thee. Even if life is ended, a second chance is given to live life again. From one time to another, both shall be connected in ways unknown. Obstacles will block you from your goal but never fret, for your soul mate will guide you. Be wary, for an unspeakable horror will rise again and will consume you if not defeated. May the stars guide you Kanna, and let your heart be your destiny."

Kanna looked at the page with bulging eyes and wondered why the book had her name in it.

"Perhaps this is my future." Said Kanna to herself.

"I don't think so. Maybe it's just one big fortune and someone has the exact same name as you."

Kanna looked at him with fierce eyes and he shut up.

"Perhaps if I read more then I c-"

She was cut off when somebody pummeled into the room and pointed there sword to her neck.
