Summary: Sequel to "Perfect Couple", sort of, but can be read on it's own.
Will loves the sea more than anything, right? Everybody knows that.
A/N: Dear MsElizabethTurnerToYou, if you should read this. The word is "Blasphemous" (not "Blasphamous"). And you have seen nothing yet. I suggest hitting "Back" now.
For the Love of…
William Turner loved the sea. It was in his blood. He loved it so much he left the lovely Miss Swann and went to the sea. At least it was what people in Port Royal said.
That, the afore mentioned William Turner thought as he stood on the deck of "Lady Anne", could never have been less true. He didn't hate the sea, per se, but he was not that found of it either.
Neither did he like ships. Well, he could live aboard one if he absolutely had to – at the moment it seemed he had no choice – and learn to do all those thousand and one tasks a sailor, a pirate, needed to do, but the ships were not his love.
People were mistaken in thinking he left Elizabeth because of the sea… But that was for the best.
Let them think that, let them believe… Elizabeth is strong – she will find her path, has already found it, perhaps… In front of Will's eyes appeared the picture of his last night in the Swann manor – Elizabeth and Commodore Norrington sitting in the library and talking, talking, talking… So at home with each other. Perhaps he is her future – or somebody else like him. But not me – and she is not mine…
He supposed he should have been sad, but in truth he felt relieved. They were friends, Elizabeth and him, had become friends in a crazed adventure with pirates, ghosts and curses and would remain friends – for always. Friends. And, as strange as it might sound to others, that seemed to be what he wanted from Elizabeth. And what she wanted from him. Friends.
Will was still pondering Elizabeth when the "Pearl" maneuvered next to the "Lady Anne", close enough that the ships' sides were almost touching. Somebody was showing off. Guess three times and the first two do not count.
Familiar faces rushed to the sideboard of the "Pearl", ready to help Will over. The crew of the "Lady Anne" looked decidedly nervous. Throwing his bag on the deck of the "Pearl" Will jumped after it and got almost crushed in the bear-hug of welcoming Gibbs.
"I knew you'd come to where you belong!" Gibbs hollered under the cheers of the Most-Frightening-And-Dangerous-Pirates-Who-Have-Ever-Sailed-The-Five-Oceans e.g. the misfit crew of "Black Pearl." And Will thought he might learn to love the ships after all.
Finally released Will looked up to see Captain Jack Sparrow walking towards them with his usual exaggerated swagger. Anamaria had taken the helm.
At least this ship.
The End (for now)
