Sango awoke to the sound of an alarm clock. She groaned, and stretched out a pale hand to turn it off. She got up, her eyes closed. Her normally clean and silky brown hair was tangled and messy from sleep, and her eyes were clean of eye shadow. She opened them, and glanced at the clock with her cinnamon orbs. They widened. Five thirty! No wonder she was so tired! But it wouldn't do to try and fall back asleep now.

She hopped from her bed and crawled on all fours to her bathroom. Her hand slid up the wall. She flicked the light switch, and bright light filled the small room. Her eyes closed, and she opened them again only half way as her eyes adjusted. She slowly stood up, careful not to hit her head on the mirror. She looked at her reflection. Brown strands of hair dangled in her face, and the rest of it was just a mess atop her head.

She opened the cabinet under the bathroom sink and grabbed her hair brush. She re closed it, and stood up straight. Looking at herself in the mirror, she gently brushed the her hair. When she finished, she turned on the faucet, and walked out of the bathroom to her closet. She pulled out a washcloth and rushed back to the bathroom.

She held it beneath the now-steaming water, waiting until it was soaked to turn the faucet off. She wrang it out and washed her face with it. She put it in the dirty laundry and grabbed her make-up bag.

She zipped it open and poured out it's contents. She grabbed a black tube of mascara, purple eyeshadow, and a light shade of blush. She put the rest back in the transparent bag and set it back on her dresser. While she was in her room, she grabbed a pair of black jeans and a black tank top. She undressed and slipped into the clothes. She grabbed a hair tie and pulled her brown hair up. She went back to the bathroom and began applying her make-up. Just as she finished, the phone rang. It was Kagome.

"Hey," Kagome said, "how's it going?"

"Good, but I have a really bad head ache."

"I hope you feel better. Don't forget; today is picture day. You can't go looking all sick!"

"Oh my gosh! I completely forgot!" Sango slapped her hand on her forehead, quickly regretting it as pain shot through. " I still look pretty darn good though!"

Kagome laughed, and said a quick bye before hanging up. Sango set her own phone back on the receiver and smiled. She and Kagome had known each other only for a year and they felt as if they had been best friends since kindergarten.

Sango raced down the stairs, and saw her backpack on the kitchen chair. Kohaku had already left for school. She threw her backpack over her shoulder and walked out the front door. She locked it, then hopped in her car. The black paint of her Camry shined brightly in the morning sun. The roar of the engine sounded through the neighborhood and she began driving to school.

Sango locked her car and began walking up to the building. She looked up as Kagome came running to her.

"Hey Sango! How's your head?"

"It still hurts, but I'll live."

"Well, okay. We'd better get to class though, it starts in five minutes!"

Sango's eyes widened. Both girls started running, and managed to reach their lockers and get to class in time. Luckily they had homeroom together.

"So, you going to the dance tonight?" Kagome asked her.

"Dance?" Sango sounded confused. "There's a dance tonight?"

Boy, she was off today. Kagome laughed and nodded. Hmm.. who would she go to the dance with? If she went, anyways.
