Today was going to be the best. Naruto was going to pull the biggest prank on Sasuke. He was going to sneak into his house and paint it all black with a single message in orange. "Naruto was here!" And the Uzameki family symbol. The only problem was getting into the apartment which his rival lived in. He watched him, looking for an opening to sneak in. Finally, the chance arrived. Sasuke was on his nightly walk around the village and to the training area. Naruto went into the building. He had his hand on the knob, but when he turned it, he found it was locked. He hissed. He put his paint down and started working on the lock.
"What are you doing, usuratonkachi?" Sasuke had come back earlier than Naruto had expected. Naruto dropped his lock-picking tools.
"Uh…" was all he could muster to say.
"Are you trying to break into my apartment?" Sasuke asked.
"No, I was… uh… trying to get into Shikamaru's apartment, but I must have gotten the wrong place," he stammered. He picked up his paint and left in a hurry. He got home and realized how much he was shaking.
The next day, he started working on another plan. He decided that he would write his message onto Sasuke's window from the outside and then paint over it in black. He worked for a whole month to be able to write backwards well enough. He got the harness and dropped own to Sasuke's window.
"What are you doing now, usuratonkachi?" Sasuke had arrived underneath him and was looking up.
"I'm uh… cleaning your windows," he said. It was lame, but it had to work. He pulled out a cloth and started wiping the window. He growled as he did so. He climbed up to the roof and returned home.
Another month passed and Naruto came up with another plan. He was going to put a pale of water on a string attached to Sasuke's door. When his Chuunin friend opened the door, the water would tip over and spill onto his head. (A/N: I'm not even sure this would work in real live. I'm sure you could get it to work, but I wouldn't try it if I were you.)
The next day he set up the whole thing and watched around the corner for his trap to be sprung. He sat there for an hour and was very bored.
"What are you waiting for?" Yet again, Sasuke had shoed up and spoiled his plans. "I know that you've been trying to prank me. You're not very good at it, are you?"
He sighed. "I give up!" He started whining.
