Forget the Feeling

The beast snarled in rage. The demon's mouth opened again as it bellowed it's hates to the world. The demonic roar continued, and it felt as if the whole world could feel it. The citizens had been evacuated to shelters earlier, but none of that mattered now. A giant, disfigured head lay next to its previous body. Blood was spread on the buildings around the remains of the being. The shell of the previous body was in pieces, and each part still attached was broken, or disfigured in some way.

Kaoru Nagisa stood high above the massacred body, on an ethereal pedestal, unable to be seen. The demon had ceased its roar, and it started to lurch forward toward its goal. He stared solemnly down at the remnants of the giant being. Above him, another being materialized, a young girl.

Her hair reflected the dull blue that the sky had been earlier. Though her hair was bland, her eyes sparkled crimson, as deep a red as the blood below her. She was clothed in an unusually pale silk dress, which matched her pale complexion. She landed softly behind Kaoru on his ethereal pedestal, and sank to her knees.

"You'd assume that the item below us would have done better." Kaoru stated quietly. "The girl had boasted so much on her skill, yet she was struck down so easily." He sighed and closed his eyes. "It's a pity really…" The young girl behind him stayed silent, as if she wasn't there, but Kaoru continued. "Humankind's greatest invention has failed them… and now it's unstoppable."

The young girl's eyes were downcast. The demon bellowed again, and crashed through a building in its path. The purple and black mammoth stopped, focusing its eyes directly underneath it. Inside, a young boy lay unconscious, powerless to stop the creature in its current state. The demon dropped to its knees, and slammed both its powerful fists into the pavement. The ground crumbled under the relentless power of the demon, and the buildings around it began to fall apart and tumble.

Kaoru watched silently as the demon continued, now digging, throwing the debris out of its path. The whole was getting bigger, and some sort of metal shield blocked the demon on its route downwards. In big numbers, '01' was painted on the metal sheet. Though, it didn't stop the monster for long, for it tore through the metal like paper. The numbers changed from '01' to '08'.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake violently. The clouds that appeared at the beginning, turned from a gray, to a black, and the horizon turned from orange, to crimson. Thunder shook the skies above, but there wasn't any lightning to light up the sky.

"It's beginning." Kaoru raised his head to look at the newly darkened sky. The blue haired girl rose her head, her crimson eyes glowing in the darkness. She spoke in her uncommonly quiet voice.

"…Yes…"

I know, it's short, but it's an opening, and I didn't feel like continuing in the same chapter… It would ruin the feel. Anyways, all you have to do is read and review. (I have about 3 more chapters completed already… if you want to read them you have to review.) Until then, have fun.
