"Where are we Azure" Jack asked
"I don't know"
We were in a sorta wilderness place. It was hot, extremely hot…something about it was very familiar. I looked towards Jack, he wasn't wearing his 1899 outfit, instead he was wearing worn out kaki pants and a faded blue button down shirt.
"What are you wearing?" I asked
"I was about to ask the same thing"
I looked down, I was wearing a loose dress, which was also faded, it looked old fashioned too…like from the 40s
"I don't think we're in New York anymore" Jack stated
"I don't think we're in 1899 anymore" I quipped
There was a sliver container connected to material on the ground, I walked towards it…I've seen this before
"Azure? What is it?"
No! It can't be!!
"Holy shit…WE'RE IN EMPIRE OF THE SUN!!!"
Meanwhile Dot was at the airport at the front desk
"I like you to book me into your next flight to Hawaii" Dot said while holding her purse with the Newsies tape inside…
Somewhere, Out There…
Azure's POV
"What do you mean by Empire of the sun?!" Jack asked
"We're in that movie" Jack looked at me blankly "You'll see"
"How are we going to get out?"
"I have no idea" I said, what happened? "Great, this isn't really the best movie to get into"
"How bad could it be?"
"You don't wanna know"
Jack started to walk around studying the surroundings "What kind of movie is this?"
…then suddenly I heard a sound of a bike coming up behind Jack…it was Jim…mini Jack…this is gonna be worse than with Trey and Blink…well actually the thought of two Jacks isn't so bad
"Hey you, watch out!" Jim yelled from behind Jack
"Jack!" I yelled "You're in his way"
I was too late, they crashed into each other
Oh no…
"What are you? Deaf?!" Jim as he picked up his bike not looking at Jack, Jack sat there in awe of him, of seeing his younger self
"Oh my god" Jack murmured
"You nearly wrecked my bike you-" then Jim finally looked up at Jack's face "Who in the bloody hell are you?" Jim said "And you" he pointed at me "What are doing here?! How in the world did get here?! And don't you know that you don't belong here?!"
I took a deep breath "Number one, my name is Azure and this is Jack" Jack still looked at him stunned and gave a little wave "Number two we got here by accident, and number three, we don't know how, and last, we know and we're like very sorry, we didn't do it on purpose, I swear"
"Shit" Jim sighed "We are lucky we're not in scene right now, follow me we have less than a day till the next scene comes" he started walking
"Wait, what do we call you?" Jack asked
"Jim, not Jamie"
"I don't understand this movie's two hours long" I asked
Jim not Jamie rolled his eyes "Yes but the movie takes course of four years"
"Meaning?"
"Meaning that the longer time the movie takes place the more time we before scenes" Jack answered "Like the movie I'm in, it takes place within a few days giving us only hours between scenes and his movie is fours years which gives him a week or even a month between scenes, so this kid has it good, he has long breaks"
"I'm not a kid…and I don't have it good"
"Sure, whatever squirt"
"So you're in four years in this movie" I said…poor thing
"And when that four years is over as the movie is, I live them again and again" Jim drifted for a moment and then continued "So let me get this straight, you're from the reality and you're from another movie"
"Exactly, Captain Obvious" Jack teased
"I beg your pardon?"
"Nothing" Jack smiled wryly "Squirt"
"Don't call me that, I have a name"
"Oh, sorry…Jim not Jamie"
"Jack stop" I pleaded
"This isn't a joking matter, can't you see?! You're trapped in this movie and along with your friend from reality and unless we don't find a portal you two will be trapped here for years!"
Jack's joking smile faded "Just who the hell do you think you are kid?"
Jim looked at him " Don't pull this shit with me, now stop standing there and go get us some fire wood" Jim ordered
"Say what?"
"What, you can't understand English?"
Jack narrowed his eyes "You didn't answer my question kid, who and what makes you in charge?"
"Do as I say" Jim said calmly
"Jack, please" I pleaded
"Look kid, I don't know who you think you are and I don't care anymore, I don't have to listen to you, I'll do my thing and you'll do yours. So do me favor and get out of my way"
Why do boys have to be so full of pride?!
Jim smiled "You could do that… and wind up getting lost and being stuck here…or you could do it my way and be out of here by morning. Listen, JACK, I've been here for over sixteen years, done a total of 1,256,893,765 performances, and know all the places here like the back of my hand. So do YOURself a favor and get some fire wood" Jack stood there speechless that a little 13 year old would dare to tell him off. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go! The sun isn't going to be up much longer"
For a second there I thought Jack was going to slug him, but instead clenched his fists and headed off.
"Now Azure" Jim turned to me "Can you please tell me exactly everything that happened that led you and that ignorant fool here"
No One's POV
Dot entered the beach condo she had just rented
"Perfect for me and Spot" she said to her self. She looked at the tape in her hands and laughed "This is too easy!"
She made her way to the TV and put the tape into the VCR and turned on the TV and saw Loud Mouth up on the screen.
"if it isn't the one and only Loud Mouth"
"Dot, long time no see" Loud Mouth said slyly
"And soon will be for Spot too"
"I wouldn't be so sure of that"
"Oh, and why do you say that?"
"Because there's one thing that stands in your way Dot"
"Really, and what's going to stop me?"
"This!" Loud Mouth said as her fist punched Dot through the TV "Come on you guys!" she yelled to the newsies as she got out of the TV
Jack's POV
That little brat! I've been here for sixteen years blah, blah, blah, what bull! Well you know what little Jamie, I'm 17 twice your size and, and…and yeah! Get some firewood, ha! I'll get you firewood! And throw at your face! I'll take orders from a fat newspaper tycoon, I'll even take it from David, but I'm sure as hell NOT going to take orders from a 12-year-old-little-snobbish-prick!
It's so hot here! I can't breath! It's hotter than New York. How many mosquitoes can this place have? Besides being hot the place was beautiful almost as pretty as the rooftop.
There was empty building everywhere that I spent more time looking around in them than collecting wood. Everything's so different from what I'm used to, never in my wildest dream would I think I'd ever see house made glass.
I walked back to where Jim and Azure were sitting.
"Here's your firewood" I shoved the wood at him
"Excuse me, look at this, you've been gone for two hours and all you brought back was a couple of twigs! This won't even last an hour let alone a whole night!"
"Well I'm sorry, that's all I can find!"
"Bull, It's not that hard to get firewood, any idiot can get some, but since it's suck a hard task for you I'll get it then!"
"Fine then" well excuse me if I live in a city!
Azure was looking at me annoyed
"What?!" I asked innocently
"Why do you have to be so difficult"
"What? Me? Difficult? He started it!"
"Oh come on, 'I'm not going take orders from a 13 year old, I can find my own way out of here'" she imitated me poorly
"So….yeah but what about…I don't like people bossing me around!"
"Neither do I, but you don't see me picking a fight with the only one here that can get us out of here! Jack just please be corporative"
"Okay, but I'll only doing it for you"
Just when I was about to kiss her, Jim came running toward us
"I found it!! You don't have to wait till the end of the movie!!"
No one's POV
"Azure! I'm here! I told the others!" Riley exclaimed, nonady answered, she then looked around no one was there "Did you leave already?"
She then looked at the TV, the Newsies movie wasn't playing.
"That's strange" she said to herself, she got her cell phone out and called Nugget "Hey Nug, is Azure over at your place?" while she was talking to Nugget she saw a video tape near the VCR… "Well Hol, if you see her, be sure to tell her I'm going without her"
"Going where?" Nugget asked no yet knowing
"You'll find out soon, bye"
She went over to the VCR
"Mushy poo here I come" she said as she put the tape in the VCR…"What the hell?"
Loud Mouth's POV
"Quick! Get the tape!" I said as I was fighting Dot
"Oh my God Loud Mouth! Look!" Race yelled
I let go of Dot instantly and ran to Race
"Look! A mini bar!! There's drinks here!" Race said excitedly, I could have punched him at that moment
"You called me over for a MINI BAR?!"
"Yeah, isn't it great! Look Sarah they even have vodka!"
"Goody!" Sarah jumped up
"Oh no! Dot's gone!" all because Race interrupted me for a 'MINI BAR'!!
"I got it!" Blink jumped up…with a purse in his hands!
"Nice Blink, you didn't get the tape but you got her purse" I said sarcastically
"Sorry, it's what I know best, I can't help it, it comes naturally"
I forgot they're from 1899 and wouldn't know what a tape is or that it would be in the VCR…we're screwed…but not quite
"Wait a minute, this isn't really a bad thing after all, she may have the tape…but we have her credit cards, money, ID, cell phone, and plane ticket" I said as I looked in her purse "meaning she can't leave the island or do anything really…we technically have her trapped!"
"It'll be a piece of cake then…right?" Race asked
"No, more like a wild goose chase"
"Umn, Loud Mouth"
"What Mush?''
"Spot's missing"
"NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Azure's POV
"There it is" Jim pointed out "At least I think it was there"
"I hope our next movie isn't American Psycho" he said while we were looking around for the portal
"Yeah that would suck if we're trapped in a movie with a psychotic chainsaw killer, oh be careful Jack, remember what happened to me---"
"AAHH!!" Jim screamed
"Jim?"
"Oh no!"
"We know where the portal is now"
"That's not funny Jack!"
"Guess we have to go after him" Jack said as he jumped through
"Guess you're right, it's going to be a bitch to get him back here" I said before I jumped
When I saw where we ended up, I nearly freaked, oh shit, all three of us were in old worn out and frayed clothes, the air was full of smog, everything smelt burnt…this isn't good…
"What's worst than being trapped in a movie with a psycho killer?" I asked
"I don't know, what?"
"Being trapped in a movie with FIRE-BREATHING-DRAGONS!!"
