I Believe

I believe in Anubis Cruger. I believe in my good friend, my shoulder to cry on, and my stable support. He's not like other men. Well, for the obvious reason. He's a dog, an alien like myself. We've found solace in each other. We two identical spirits, alone and misunderstood.

Doggie is a mastermind of cunning thoughts. He has an answer for everything, a bit like me I suppose. It's strange to think sometimes how he comes up with it all, and I'm supposed to be intelligent.

I wonder, when he's calm, how he copes with all that's happened. He is the last remaining survivor of his planet, of his race. His wife is dead. All we know is that General Banaag didn't commit her murder. I'm surprised he hasn't gone mad with a past like his. But no, Doggie arose from the ashes, stronger than before, and rebuilt SPD on Earth. He put hope and faith into many cadets, including the top ranking ones. The B-Squad cadets don't know how lucky they've got it. Having a commander like Doggie is worth more than a thousand trained SPD warriors.

And then, just as I thought Doggie might finally give up, he amazed me once again. Facing his past, he took up his Shadow Sabre once more and joined the battle against Gruumm. Braving all his thoughts and nightmares about his dead wife and realising the importance of believing in yourself makes me think. He makes me think about how lucky we are.

Doggie saved my life that day. He's helped B-Squad on countless occasions, and believes in them. He knows, despite all their differences, that they can pull it together to make an unstoppable team, once which will bring down Gruumm and all his forces. He's trained them for this. All he needs to do now his give them that extra push in the right direction which will lead them to victory.

I believe in Doggie Cruger, no matter what anyone says, I believe in him, to save us all.
