Insensitive
Rae was a horrible flirt, and she flirted with almost every guy she met. She never actually liked them, she just had a flirting sickness, or at least that's what she told her friends.
But this time it was different. It started out that Rae just enjoyed flirting with Kurogane. She made it her goal to get him to flirt back. After a while though, she started liking him. She liked him so much she was pretty much obsessed with him (but she wasn't obsessed as in stalking, she just thought about him all the time and memorized everything about him). She had a hard time concentrating on anything because she would hear him talking to someone across the room.
How do you block the sound of a

You'd know anywhere
Then finally, one perfect Thursday morning Kurogane came up to her.
"Wanna go out?" He asked abruptly, making Rae start.
"Do I wanna go out? Sure, I'd love to," She replied, almost unbelieving. She never actually thought he'd every like her back, considering he'd been cold and harsh to her since day one.
"Friday, 7:00. I'll pick you up."
Rae nodded. "Great."
For the rest of the day Rae was up in the clouds. She felt like she was in 6th grade again and her first crush asked her out.
Friday seemed like it would never reach seven o'clock. But then finally it did.
Rae had an amazing time on the date, but she noticed, or thought she noticed that Kurogane was bored.
Her subconcious mind kept telling her that this was a pity date. She ignored it the whole time, not letting anything get her down.
After dinner and a movie (in which Kurogane fell asleep), Rae started believing her subconcious. She started to get the feeling that he was only doing this to get her off his back. It made her feel really lousy. She'd never, in all her time of flirting and liking guys, felt like this before.
Oh I really should have known
By
the time you drove me home
When the drove up to Rae's house, she was determined to end the night off well.
At least he was nice enough to walk me to the door, Rae thought as they stood at her door.
"See you at school tomorrow," Kurogane mumbled.
"Ya, I guess." Rae replied, trying to hide her sadness.
Your casual good-byes
The expression on your face
Rae was planning on kissing him, but realized that it wouldn't be returned, and therefore there was no point in kissing him. She wouldn't truly be able to enjoy it without him returning it.
That told me you might have some advice to give
On how to be
insensitive
After the date, Rae kept flirting with Kurogane. She knew he didn't like her, and probably didn't enjoy her flirting, but there's no harm in hoping, right? Besides it was a bit of therapy and payback for bringing her on a pity date.
Oh you
probably won't remember me
It's probably ancient history
I'm
one of the chosen few
Who went ahead and fell for you
I fell
too fast, I feel too much
I thought you might have some advice to
give
On how to be insensitive
