Always Remembered
Misa stood in front of his grave, feeling overwhelmed with emotion and yet numb inside. Despite it being a year since he died, it all seemed surreal to her. As if it didn't happen. As if it was a dream that she was going to wake up from any moment now. She didn't like the feeling of helplessness inside her as she brushed her fingers over the cold surface of the granite. She didn't like it was her fault that he was dead. It didn't make much sense since she knew that in order for her beloved Raito to be happy, she would have to get rid of Ryuuzaki.
Or rather, L.
She didn't like calling him L. It made her feel as if she was talking about some well-known figure instead of the indivudial. She liked calling people by their names. Ryuuzaki wasn't his real name, but it was better then L. The name L was merely the title of some genius detective. Ryuuzaki was a crazy, genius, sugar addict of a pervert. Ryuuzaki was her friend. L was Raito's enemy, which made L her enemy... no. L wasn't Raito's enemy--L was Kira's enemy. Raito is Kira. She is Kira. It was because Misa and Raito were Kira that L was their enemy.
Misa wished that Ryuuzaki didn't die with L. She missed the way he would eat insane amount of sugar. How he would eat her cake when she felt fat and couldn't choke it down. How he made her time with Raito funnier with his presence. How he made her so mad when he would watch as she kissed Raito goodnight. It was the little quirks that she used to get so furious over that she missed.
In a little way, she even missed L. She missed listening to his ideas, how that she would use the little details she overheard to her advantage. Even if by a little. After all, Raito was the brains behind Kira. She was merely the eyes... the observer, the doll, the pawn in this big game that was Creation of Kira's Perfect World. L was the opposition, and had to be eliminated.
Despite him being the bad guy, she was really fond of him secretly.
Placing the flowers on his grave, she smiled sadly. It felt like she was betraying Raito by just being at here, but she pushed the guilt aside. She loved Raito, not L or Ryuuzaki. It wasn't wrong to mourn over a death. Misa fiddled with her hair before looking up from the grave to the sky.
"L... no, Ryuuzaki," she said. "Misa misses you a lot, you silly goose. Misa thought Misa would've been happy if you would just die because Raito wanted you to die. Misa thought Misa would be happy if you died because then there would be no more pervert Ryuuzaki watching Raito... Misa's every movement. Misa is not happy, though!" Despite not wanting to, she cried. What a betryal to Kira. "Misa, as Misa and not the Second Kira, wants to say that Misa is sorry. Misa is so sorry and that Misa will always remember you."
And Misa parted from his grave, to go back to her role of Kira.
The End
This is my first fanfiction posted in any other fandom except for Yuugiou since I was eleven. That's rather sad, isn't it? Obviously, since this is fanfiction, I do not own Death Note.
Anyways. Written for Rememberance Day in the Death Note fandom because it is so uncanny how L died for justice and so did the soldiers long ago in World War II. Kinda for Maneshi too, since we're both Death Note junkies.
Constructive criticism and flames are more then welcome, and opinions of the drabble in general is appreciated.
