Vash was smirking. "You know I'm right. They'll never think you're normal; you think too much to be human."
Knives' eyes flashed in the dark. "Don't say that, Vash. Don't even joke."
Vash's teasing air vanished. "I'm sorry. You know I didn't mean it."
"Still..." Knives turned back to the miniature chamber, uneasy. Vash crouched beside him.
"Isn't it weird?"
"What?"
"Seeing so many asleep like this. Even the children."
"We're children."
"Not like them. They're older, but...younger. In their minds."
"Our hearts are the same."
Vash frowned. "I hope so."
