On the Other Side
I'll never hear her smile
i'll never see her smile,
I only wish this were only for
awhile.
I can hear her laugh,
so far and distant.
Tears will never fall
like diamonds from her eyes
I'll never be their --
to wipe them all aside.
The soft of her skin,
the warmth of her smile,
makes me want to stay
in this dreamland for awhile.
But when I see that look
in her eyes--
I know I can't go on living in
this lie.
I say good-bye
But only for a short time---
we'll meet again;
on the other side.
