"Its just what I chose to do." That phrase repeated itself over and over in Watanuki's mind. What did Doumeki mean when he said that? Watanuki shook his head, that jerk probably meant that it was a passing thought for him. Still, something about those words. It seem that it held a deeper meaning, especially after his whole conversation with Yuuko.

/Flashback/

Yuuko gave Watanuki a stern look, "He made a decision. He chose to shoot that woman. Even if it hurt you…even if it made you hate him. "

Watanuki could feel the tears pooling.

"Now you would have to choose how you would treat Doumeki."

/End Flashback/

Watanuki felt that he should notice something. He was concentrating so hard that he didn't even notice the stoic boy waving a hand in front of his face.

"Oi, are you even capable of thinking about something so hard?"

Watanuki, having his thoughts broken, turned and glared at the emotionless boy sitting across from him. They were having lunch on the rooftop today. Himawari was supposed to have lunch with them until she had to stay late in class to finish an art project. So now Watanuki was having lunch with Doumeki.

"What the hell you did that for!"

"I see the idiot can understand what I said."

Watanuki was fuming now.

"What makes you think you're so better than me!" Watanuki shouted.
"If you think that I'm an idiot, why do you still hang around me? I don't need you!"

Watanuki was on a roll. He could not stop what he was saying.

"Why do you always show up where you're not wanted! Why did you show up that night! Why where you there!" Watanuki felt the tears coming down his face.
Watanuki's voice dropped down to a whisper, "Why did you shoot her? Why did you not stop? She was the closest thing I had to a mother. I was aware of the dangers. Why didn't you just let me go away?"

After getting no response form the person across with him, Watanuki looked up and could not believe what he saw on the usually stoic boy's face. Anger was the most apparent emotion, but there was something else. Watanuki could also see sadness and something that he could not place.

"Are you a freaking idiot! What do you mean why did I do what I did?"

Watanuki could not reply. He never heard Doumeki's voice be anything then aloof. It was slight frightening seeing Doumeki yelling.

"You were gonna die. Do you what that means! It means you won't be here. How can you be so selfish as to leave the people who care for you. Himawari, Yuuko, how can you just give up their friendship so easily?" Doumeki quieted down. He took a deep breathe before looking at Watanuki again.

"How can you try and leave me so easily?"

Watanuki just stared at what Doumeki was saying.

"You asked my why I shot her, because I chose to. Because I did not want you to leave"
Doumeki bent his head down and pressed his lips against Watanuki's. For a moment all Watanuki could feel was the constant pressure and heat coming from Doumeki. All the sadness and loneliness he felt slowly dissipated. Watanuki was beginning to lean into the kiss when he returned to his senses and pushed Doumeki away.

"Why the hell did you just do that!"

Doumeki looked at the bespectacled boy and replied, "Because I choose to."
