Author Note – Ever wondered why Hermione is in Gryffindor? Here is my reasoning…

Hermione Granger, an intelligent girl whom had only found out she had magic powers, two months before and had read all her school books and more in that short period of time, eagerly ran up to the four legged stool, and jammed the sorting hat upon her head.

Her face was glowing with glee, as the caps rim fell over her eyes. In seconds, she was doubting on whether this was a joyful moment.

"Hmm…" spoke the cap. Hermione looked wildly around to see who had spoken, but all little first year could see was the black inside of the cap. It took her a few moments for her to figure out that it was talking in her HEAD!

"Another Weasley." The old hat said gruffily.

"I am sorry to correct you, Hermione thought back, "But my name is Hermione. Hermione Granger."

The hat snorted in her ear, making her jump about a foot in the air. "Only in the books you are." Said the cap wisely.

"Huh? Just what are you talking about?" Hermione retorted. "I believe you are mistaken or something because…" she never got to finish.

"I though for a second back there you had an were bright." Said the sorting hat coolly. "Anyways, I do supose it is best I place you with your future husband."

"GRYFFINDOR!" it screamed to the Great Hall, a great burst of clapping from the Gryffindor table broke out. Hermione tugged the hat off her head, and made for the Gryffindor table wondering who was the Weasley she was one day going to marry.

She gazed along the table searching for someone that perhaps had a chance. Minutes later, Hermione was still looking along the table.1

"Weasley, Ronald!" called Professer McGonagall.

Hermione looked up, and blinked. The red haired boy from the train was walking up to the stool. Ten seconds later he was walking over to the Gryffindor table and seated himself next to Harry Potter.

'Perhaps…' Hermione thought, watching the handsome boy clutch his stomach complaining about his hunger. 'Nah…' Hermione thought, shaking her head. It couldn't be.
