Disclaimer: I don't own naruto

A/N: yea.this is my first fanfic writing. So don't expect this to be good. Flames accepted, cuz itll help me be a better writer. Also, I know i changed it so that Naruto knew that hinata liked him, but I just like the idea of Naruto knowing more than he lets on >.

Sorry it's so short, but it's only suppose to be an intro. I'll update as quickly as i can.

Chapter 1

Introduction

She was different from the others. Maybe it was because she was the only one who was never interested in him. Not that she didn't talk to him. Or try to. It was always Sasuke who kept silent, and Hinata who tried to start a conversation. But Sasuke knew that the only reason she was ever near team 7 was because of Naruto. Everyone was aware that Hinata had a crush on the blond, cheerful, loud shinobi. Even Naruto knew, though he pretended he didn't, not only to her, but to everybody. As far as everyone was concerned, he was ignorant of her affection. This made things simpler for Naruto, as he didn't return her feelings, nor did he feel like talking to anyone else who would try to get him to date hinata. She was like a little sister to him, and he could never imagine being with her in a loving relationship.

He instead looked in the direction of a certain pink haired kunoichi. She was at the moment picking flowers from the training field, deep in thought. Team 7 was taking a lunch break from practice, and once again, Hinata had come to bring Naruto lunch. Of course, she brought enough lunch for both Sakura and Sasuke too, but Sasuke would always decline, and Naruto would end up eating his share. She would come at least once a week, sometimes twice. They were all used to it, and it eventually became routine. At first, Sakura was afraid that maybe she liked Sasuke, since practically every girl did. But she was put at ease once she noticed how Hinata always stuttered and blushed around Naruto. Sakura even asked her once if she liked the blonde ninja, and her face immediately turned red. But Hinata didn't give her a straight answer, and instead said that she had to go back home.

Sakura thought back to this as she held a carnation in her hand. They had become such good friends since the academy. All four of them had, though Sasuke would not admit it. She contemplated on how she could help her newest friend. She considered just telling Naruto that Hinata liked him, but she figured that Hinata wouldn't like that very much.

Maybe I could help her raise her confidence. Nudge her in the right direction, and even try to get Naruto to like her back.

Part of Sakura wondered if she was really doing this to help Hinata, or to help herself. Naruto liked her and she knew it. Heck, the whole town knew it, just like they knew she liked Sasuke. It would make things much easier for me if Naruto was out of the picture.

Suddenly she felt guilty. She had no right to think that. Naruto had every right to like her. But… No. She wouldn't think about it right now. She would just enjoy the perfect day, the four of them in this grassy field, with the gentlest breeze present in the air.
