Okay! This is my first attempt at a FullMetal Alchemist poem. I got this idea from their past. This poem is from Edward to Alphonse. Wow! I suck at this! LOL! Be nice!
Brother
Between the ashes and sky of our lost lives
I found myself looking at that sky.
Remembering our plan to return what we had lost.
Remembering…what I forced you to give.
A life for a life, and I reached for you vanishing hand.
I scream to the blood saturated floor.
"This…wasn't what I wanted."
Looking to the circle…a glimmer of hope?
Was she alive?
Had she returned?
The massive mound of flesh…wasn't her.
Equivalent to my brother's youthful form?
Before returning you to this hallowed life…I had to kill it.
I wouldn't allow you to see.
I couldn't.
Motherless fools, we vowed to return her to us.
Too scared to live as lost orphans.
Too frightened to live without…her.
My body turned num feeling the phantom memory of my limbs.
I had to get you back.
I dashed to the Gate once more.
My arm disappeared into the darkness, but I blocked the pain…
I blocked it with the image of what we use to be.
I blocked it with the image of you.
The seal was enough…my arm was enough.
I had my brother back, but in what recompensed state?
I could finally rest in your metal arms
"Brother…" my lips quivered before darkness surrounded me, "I…I'm so sorry…"
Now we face this desolate and unethical world.
Battered with our scars and sins.
Why are you still here…with me?
So I reach up towards that sky with both hands.
So close is what I wish.
So far is what I lost.
I will get you what you had to give.
This pain is nothing…I give freely to the State.
If it means…
To have my brother back.
This I promise you.
Brother…please forgive me…
