I swung my legs back and forth, freely, gazing up at the dark sky. All the stars were back, it was comforting knowing the heartless were gone. I let out a sigh and leaned forward, peering down at second district. I think it was around two in the morning. The only person outside right now, besides me, was Leon. He was sitting on one of the benches having a cigarette. He looked tired and depressed…all Leon-like. I watched him take a drag and then blow the smoke back out into the cold air. Then he spat noisily, which made me cringe. Who doesn't agree with me that that was nasty?
I got bored of watching him, so I leaned back and rested my head on my hands. From the corner of my eye I saw a star shoot through the sky; before I had the chance to get a good look at it, it had already disappeared. Then, for some unknown reason, I thought of Sora. I wondered where he was and how he was doing. It'd been weeks since I had last thought about him—ok I lied. While sparring with Squallie last weekend and I accidentally called him Sora. Which got me missing duels against the little guy (and Riku, too—I enjoyed kicking his butt and then rubbing it in for days on end).
"So…" I kicked a small rock out of my way, "What's going to happen after you seal that door?"
He shrugged, "Everyone will go back to their world?" he said unsure of himself.
I hummed. "So basically, I won't see you or Riku anymore."
"Right." He answered; his eyes shifted towards the Hotel. I don't think he realized I was trying to say I'd miss him.
"You guys would try and find a way to visit though, right?" I walked up the stairs, looking over my shoulder at him. He shrugged. I turned my head back to look ahead of me, "Lame."
He laughed, "What? Unless Cid miraculously comes up with a Gummi Ship that can get me to and from worlds—without having to be connected—I can't visit."
I thought for a moment, "Then I shall threaten Cid to miraculously come up with a Gummi Ship that can get to and from worlds—without having to be connected—so that you can visit as much as you want." I took in a deep breath and plastered a grin on my face.
He gave me a strange look, laughed at me, and then walked off towards the café. "What? I think it could happen!" I shouted. He just shook his head and kept on walking.
Now I just had to find something to threaten Cid with.
I sat up, "Hey…Squall?" I finally announced my presence.
His head snapped up and he looked startled. After he registered the strange person on top of the Gizmo Shop as me, he relaxed and replied coolly, "What?"
"Where's Cid? I have a proposition for him."
He quirked up an eyebrow, "About what?"
"Gummi Ships." I smiled and pushed myself off the edge of the building. I landed on my feet, like a cat. My ankles were in a bit of pain, but I was fine.
I then sauntered over to where he was seated. He just took another drag and stared at me. "You know, smoking makes kissing nasty."
"Who says we'll be kissing?" he exhaled.
"I didn't say anything about us kissing. You pedophile." He scowled. I grinned and climbed up onto the landing behind him. "Good night, Squallie."
He only grunted.
The Accessory shop was now in view; Pulling out my shruiken, a smirk crept it's way onto my face. This would be fun. I haven't ninja'd anyone in days.
