Tangled up in Blue

Disclaimer:... What do you think! Of course i don't

Early one mornin' the sun was shinin',
I was layin' in my tree
Wond'rin' if she'd changed at all
If she was living peacefully.
Her folks they said our lives together
Was gonna bring many tears
They never did like my way of life
Gramps never got used to my ears
And I was standin' right next to the well
Rain fallin' 'top my face,
Heading out for the Future
Lord knows I've been round the place, gettin' through,
Tangled up in Blue.

She was fifteen when we first met,
Think she was dragged down a well,
She reminded me of someone else,
But the differences everyone could tell
We fought a bit but soon she found
A secret round my neck,
We found a partnership I guess,
But We never did double check,
For as she left on that fateful day,
We knew that it was best
I heard her say over my shoulder,
"I only have to take a test," Only I never knew,
Tangled up in Blue.

I was Sick and tired of Waiting,
working as a taiji for food,
But I never did like it all that much
And one day I got an attitude
So I was given quite the bad name,
And never hired or lent,
Workin' at all just wasn't for me
so I left it to the wind,
But all the while I was alone
The past was close behind,
I seen a lot of women,
But she never escaped my mind, and I just grew
Tangled up in Blue.

One day I decided to go find her,
So I checked for the beads round my neck,
I jumped in the well without thinkin' twice,
I never knew the havoc I would wreck
And as I entered on the other side,
I found the place ablaze,
She was standing there, lookin' scared
Said to me, "Don't I know your name?"
I muttered somethin' underneath my breath,
As I picked her up like my bride
I must admit I felt a little uneasy
When I felt her breath near mine, and the time was true,
Tangled up in Blue.

She let me in to her house,
And gave to me a swipe,
"I thought you'd never say hello," she said
"You look like the silent type."
Then something inside of her shined,
And I thought she'd remembered to see,
But What I thought just wasn't true,
And something weird she said to me,
"I think I remember someone like you
From a long time ago,
But I just can't seem to remember
Something about the time flow," but she never knew,
Tangled up in Blue.

I went back to live in 'my' present time,
One night when she was asleep
But something strange the following day,
Brought to me a creep,
She came through the well, somehow,
Tryin' to remember me,
She had trouble for a while
Remembered something bought the old sacred tree,
But when she left for her own time,
I became withdrawn,
She had figured out my name,
And the adventures we'd been on, somehow she knew,
Tangled up in Blue.

So now I'm goin' back again,
I got to get to her somehow.
All the people we used to know
They're an illusion to me now.
Some are still taiji
Some are perverted monks
Don't know how it all got started,
Or if their all still drunks,
I never did like seein' her with other men,
We always did feel the same
But me, I'm still on the road
I'm Headin' for the well again, all full of shame,
Tangled up in Blue
