Author's Note: I got the idea for this fic from a story called Blind Faith. I read it, thought, stared and then started to write. If you care to read something good you should probably go have a look at that fic, I promise you that you'll love it! I certainly did...
Ps.: Would anyone care to beta this?
Black Blood
Chapter One
It all started off in a fairly harmless way.
I stood up, clumsily made my way from my large warm bed to the cold bathroom, put on my clothes, splashed ice cold water on my face, glared at my girly reflexion, wiped off the water, stalked to the kitchen, opened the heavy kitchen door, went inside, closed the kitchen door, saw the expectant faces of my team mates, saw Hitoshi's scary big black dog on the ground, saw the pancakes, saw the hot chocolate and the coffee, sat down between Max and Ray, stared blankly at Kenny's laptop, grinned a greeting at Max when he poked me frowningly, stared back down at the pancakes and froze.
I didn't dare look up from the sweetly smelling pancakes. Suddenly I could hear my heavy heat beat. My breathing hitched and I had to swollow hard several times to be able to choke out the following word: "Coffee?"
"I'm back, yeah." I hadn't heard the door open behind me and when I heard the cold, steely and dark voice of my former team leader I felt as though someone had stabbed me in the back. I whipped around with a startled yelp, staring wide-eyed at the suddenly much taller man with the blood coloured eyes that smirked lazily back at me, hands in his pockets, leaning arrogantly against the door.
His eyes hadn't lost any of their former intensity, his hair still had the same dual coloured blue-grey to them, his smirk was the exact equal of the younger self I had known to hate so dearly, there was still that same air of superiority and there was still perfection underlying every of his movements but something had changed 180 degrees. And it was sending shivers down my spine.
"Kai." I whispered, pancakes forgotten. He pushed away from the door, quickly walking in my direction, a faint glint of surprise in his eerily red eyes. Leaning down his eyes narrowed and I...
...fell off my chair.
